Ryujiro Uematsu (植松 竜司郎 Uematsu Ryūjirō) is a character in the manga and anime franchise Detective Conan.

Background
Ryujiro Uematsu is the current principal of Teitan Elementary School, which Conan and his friends attend. He has been serving with the school for at least 30 years, ever since the new school building was constructed, according to one of his own statements.
Uematsu first appears to the audience when he softly admonishes Mitsuhiko Tsuburaya for committing abuse on the schoolhouse when the latter vented his frustration about the strange night-time occurrences for the last few weeks. Some of these were actually committed by Uematsu himself after he had hid the vice principal's hairpiece when the latter had lost it to a gust of wind in the teaching staff room.

In this case, Ryujiro accompanies the new deputy teacher and the Detective Boys to visit the warehouse and with a glaring eye, tells them that someone died in the house in the street next to the school ten years ago and that the criminal might have died in the warehouse.

Personality
Uematsu is a very easy-going and supportive person who tries to encourage both his teaching staff and his student charges into following the right path. However, he seems to be a rather shrewd and eccentric person, as he likes to play jokes whenever the opportunity presents itself, especially on overly shy people. Part of this eccentricity is expressed by his notably overlong eyebrows, which droop down from the side of his temples.
