Bourbon is a member of the Black Organization in the manga and anime franchise Detective Conan. He is a recently dispatched agent who specializes in deduction and intelligence gathering. He hates Shuuichi Akai for some unknown reason.

Background

Soon after Akai Shuuichi's death, Kir called Jodie Starling to report that a new member of the Organization called Bourbon had been dispatched. Kir said that Bourbon's target was the escaped scientist Shiho Miyano and that Bourbon has excellent information gathering skills and deductive abilities.

Personality

by Kir to Jodie Starling of the FBI. Kir said he has recently been dispatched to search for Sherry and to have great deduction and intelligence gathering skills. Gin has said that Bourbon hates Shuichi Akai much more than he does and that he is a man who follows his own rules, much like Vermouth. It has been hinted that Bourbon may be Subaru Okiya, but there is also speculation that Bourbon is disguised as scar Akai and is trying to find out if the real Akai is alive by appearing before the FBI agents and watching their reactions to him.

Mission

Originally Kir said that Bourbon's target was the escaped scientist Shiho Miyano. Another possibility is that Bourbon's mission was to investigate Akai's death to make sure there were no tricks. Bourbon doesn't believe Akai is dead, so it makes sense that Bourbon would want to investigate to see if the real Akai is alive.[1]

Plot Overview

Identity

Gender

Kir uses the masculine only term "kare" (彼) to refer to Bourbon instead of a gender neutral term, but it is unknown if she has met Bourbon in person.[1] So far all the Black Organization codenames for men are liquors while womens' codenames are wine or wine-based cocktails. Bourbon should be a man if this pattern holds.
