Case

Situation

After bowling, Ran, Sonoko, and Conan head to the bank to cash a check. While there, an armed bank robbery happens. After some struggle, one man is shot by the robber but survives. After being shot, another man struggles with the robber and ends up shooting and killing the robber. It all seems normal but Conan finds it strange. After figuring out the robber had an accomplice, Conan, using Sonoko, reveals the robber's accomplice.

Noboru Taniguchi was Touru Saeki's accomplice in the robbery and shot him to keep him quiet about Noboru's role in the crime after Touru unexpectedly shot Tetsuya.

Trivia

• Tsuji's listening pretty a different version of the Kamen Yaiba theme, and he's reading (Shonen) Sunday.
• Touru Saeki's pistol is a Cybergun Desert Eagle .50AE GBB.
• The Forensic Member under characters appear to be the same Forensic Member in A Stalker's Murder Case, Loan Company President's Murder Case, and Man, who is also a Forensic Officer in The Third Fingerprint Murder Case, or at least all four look a lot alike.
• This is the first episode that opens at a bowling alley.
• Even Ran can be irresponsible: Going Bowling before cashing a Detective Agency Check for Dad.
• This is the first time that Conan appears to be coming down with something since the Diplomat Murder Case.
• Conan is not as sick as a dying dog, but he does have a cough.
• This is the first case with a bank robbery, even if there was only one gunman, dressed in a biker kind of suit with helmet, maybe motocross?.
• This episode is Ran, Sonoko, and Conan's first time as hostages in a hijacked or building robber. This is really Conan's second time, the first being Hijacked Department Store Case, although he was never actually captured or a hostage in that episode.

* This is the first building hijack case that gives the illusion of a robbery gone bad.

• Although Conan has used Sonoko for a mouthpiece several times before, in this episode, he sure finds it difficult to talk like a girl, in contrast to previous times.
• In this episode, Conan hid beneath Sonoko's bench during the Deduction Show.
• Interesting Note: Conan no longer is coughing after the incident, although that may have been due to a cough drop that he was given and took earlier, however the cough came back in post credit scene.
• In this episode, coughs are running rampant, and many characters are coughing.
• This is the first time that Conan temporarily came out of hiding in Sonoko's Deduction Show.
