Saitoh (斉藤 Saitō?) is a character in the manga and anime franchise Detective Conan.

Background

Saitoh is a detective from the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department, Division One Investigations, cyber crimes unit.[1] He loves Sato and is thus jealous of Takagi, often attempting to interrupt their dates along with several other officers. He has respect for Matsumoto and follows his orders.

He meets Conan in several cases and his great deduction impressed him only during Takagi's kidnapping, but of course Conan leaves all credit to Shinichi or Agasa.[2]

He ate Azusa's special pasta when came to Café Poirot on their stakeout, and said it was really delicious, so he's been coming here a lot recently.[3]

His name comes from Takayuki Saito, who was at a player of the Yomiuri Giants baseball team at the time of the airing of episodes 358-359[4].
