Shigeki Awai

Shigeki Awai (粟井重紀 ,Awai Shigeki^?) is a Japanese animator. She does key animation and animaton director in Detective Conan anime and movies.

Works in Detective Conan

Awai has worked in the Detective Conan anime since 2009, starting with the 1st part of The Whereabouts of the Embarrassing Charm. He frequently worked under the episodes done by Azeta Pictures. He also began to serve as animation director in 2013, starting with the 2nd part of Froth, Steam, and Smoke. Until Detective Boys vs. Elderly Detective League in 2015, when he stepped down from it. In 2016, after finishing the key animation work for the 1st part of A Cottage Surrounded by Zombies, Awai quit the production team and has not returned yet.
