- Conclusion
Using his gadgets to use Richard, Conan reveals that the killer is Jackie.
While Jackie was fiddling with the answering machine to prove he wasn't the killer, with the last of his strength, Mr.Monrue wrote Jackie's name on the drawers for a dying message to prove he was the killer. When Jackie noticed this, he shuffled the drawers then added a few more markings so it couldn't be recognized, and marked the rest of the room so it wouldn't stand out, to erased a dying message from the police's eyes.
Jackie then charge to Richard with a sword to kill him, but he stop when the sword hits the head, cause Richard must be so brave to just stay there in the face of death. The sword left a wound in his head, so when Richard woke up he noticed blood coming out of his head, then he freaks out.
- Motive
Jackie's family had an antique sword that was passed down from generation to generation, but Mr.Monrue sold it. Jackie couldn't control his anger that Mr.Monrue sold his family heirloom, so he gave him the kill.
