File 1004 - The Light Crimson Answer
The culprit seemingly manages to pull off his plan to kill Mineto as well, but it was all a trap, set-up by the Kyoto police under the orders of Shinichi —Mineto is saved. Together with Masumi and Heiji, Shinichi confronts Riki Agata, who was the one behind it all.
After the case is solved, Ran talks about a nice place that Okita had told her about and as Sonoko and Masumi start going ahead, Shinichi holds Ran back and asks her how she feels about him. Shinichi mentions Ran's meeting with Okita the previous and wonders if she has forgotten about his confession in London. In response, Ran pulls him closer by grabbing his tie and kisses him on the cheek.
File 1005 - The Dark Crimson Omen
Shinichi moves to kiss Ran on the lips, but the antidote begins to wear off, and he flees.
Masumi gives chase, only to run into Heiji. She realizes that the rucksack Heiji is wearing has the shrunken Shinichi inside it, but doesn't directly confront the two about it.
As Shinichi and Ran exchange texts about what the kiss means for their relationship, Masumi speaks with Mary. Mary orders her to obtain the "medicine" that will return her to her true age, so that they can stop running, and counter-attack.
As the case attracts global attention, someone claims that the apparently dead Shinichi Kudo helped to solve the case — Hyoue Kuroda, Kanenori Wakita, and Rumi Wakasa (who is revealed to have access to the APTX victim list) all take notice of this.

Heiji tells the press outside his school that it was Okita that was caught on film and not Shinichi. At the same time, the owner of the blog suddenly retracts her claim that she saw Shinichi.
As Wakita, Wakasa, and Kuroda look at the retraction, Rum sends an email to Rei, demanding that he gather information about Shinichi.
Yukiko and Yusaku have returned to Japan and reveal to Conan that they convinced the blog owner to retract her claim in exchange for their autographs. They decide to remain in the country for the foreseeable future, in light of Yusaku's interpretation of Koji Haneda's dying message, which leads them and Conan to believe that Renya Karasuma is connected to the Organization and revealed to be the boss of the Black Organization.
