Shinsuke Kanawa (金輪 芯介 Kanawa Shinsuke) is a character in the anime franchise Detective Conan.

Background
Shinsuke Kanawa is a man residing in Tokyo, who had asked the famous fortuneteller Sadako Baba to tell him where he should buy a new house, to which she replied at the north-northeast. He also works in the construction field. Unfortunately, when he bought a house, the company he was working for shut down and his wife left him, which made him hate Sadako. Later, he went on to complain at Sadako along with Fukami Endo and Ryoichi Sazanami since they had lost a lot from her predictions. When she was killed, he and the two others were the main suspects of the case as their belongings were found on the crime scene. At the end, sleeping Kogoro's deduction clears him of suspicion as well as Endo, revealing Sazanami as the culprit. It is unknown if he has any children.

Kanawa is someone who jumps to conclusions easily, from where comes his hatred for Baba, but he is still rational, since at the end, he realizes his misfortunes are due to himself.

Kanawa is a tall well-built man who has black buzz cut hair. He has dark skin and wears construction clothes. He is a smoker.

Kanawa is one of the main suspects, along with Fukami Endo and Ryoichi Sazanami, in a murder case where Sadako Baba, whom the three resented, was strangled to death. He is one of the suspects since he doesn't have an alibi and his lighter was found on the crime scene. He reveals his motive to the police and later tells them that he in fact didn't resent her that much, since his bad luck was only due to himself. Conan through Kogoro declares him innocent in his deduction show and reveals the culprit to be Ryoichi Sazanami.
