Case

The Detective Boys find a woman crushed by ruins in an abandoned house. When they follow the blood trail that stars at the entrace of the house, they arrive to Western Confections Paradise, a confectionary shop. After that, they found a woman with red clothes with a blood stain in her leg and they suspected her to be the woman who was crushed in the abandoned house, when they follow her, the secretary of the confectionary company Yayoi Ito finds the corpse of the president Akira Ogawa drowned in red bean paste.

The younger brother of the victim and also the vice-president of the company Hiroshi Ogawa arrives and tells the secretary to call the police, the brother finds his wife Hanako Ogawa's handkerchief next to the body and tells her to have lunch at the apartment. The police and Kogoro arrive and tried to find who is the murder, but Conan seems to solve the case first.

The culprit is Yayoi Ito. She also is the mysterious woman that was coming to the shop a week ago and planned all the murder, using Hanako Ogawa and the Detective Boys. The woman who was crushed by the ruins wasn't Ito, but Hanako. That was necessary to be supposely discovered by the Detective Boys to make them think it was Ito. After she stabilished an alibi, she went to kill the president and come to the shop to eat cake like nothing. Fortunately Conan alerted Hiroshi that the killer was the secretary and he and his wife pretended to be poisoned. Her motive is that the president decide to make Japanese sweets instead of Western cakes. At first, the vice president and his wife also opposed the president, but in the end accepted the suggestion. Because of that, she also planned to murder them.

• Hiroshi Ogawa is named after actual Detective Conan design works designer Hiroshi Ogawa.
