Amanda Hughes (アマンダ・ヒューズ Amanda Hyūzu?) was an elderly wealthy American who was killed by APTX 4869 seventeen years prior to the current timeline, when she was 81-year-old. Amanda apparently had contacts to two American intelligence agencies, the FBI and CIA. She died while staying at a hotel which was also occupied by shogi champion Kohji Haneda whom Amanda was a big fan of, and who was killed the same night. It was proved that she visited his hotel room.

She was so powerful in the US that Black Organization tried to threaten her.It's said that she was a contender to be the next president of the United States.She has a close bodyguard called Rachel Asaka.They are as close as mother and daughter.She is also a big fan of Kohji Haneda.
