Takeshi Mochizuki (望月 武 Mochizuki Takeshi , born 1968 and died 14 May 2015) is a Japanese screenplay writer and novellist, he was a member of Japan Writers' Guild during life-time. He died in 2015 of a myocardial infarction at age 46.[1]
When Mochizuki was young, he worked at Fuji News Sales Department (富士ニュース営業部). He resigned at the age of 27 and came exclusively to Tokyo just to learn script writing, at the same time, he worked part-time as a truck driver in a transportation company. In 1998, he won the Yomiuri TV Script Award and debuted as a screenweriter after that. In 1999, he was selected into the Newcomer Script Competition of the Script Writers Association. In 2008, he won the TV Tokyo Award at the 28th Yokomizo Historic Reasoning Awards for Tennessee Waltz (テネシー・ワルツ).
On May 14, 2015, at 1:08 am, he died at a hospital in Fuji City, Shizuoka Prefecture due to acute myocardial infarction, at the age of 46.
