The culprit was Ryuusaku Fuemoto, who was also a teacher at the school the suicide victim, Natalie Fuemoto was in. She was Date's boyfriend and the culprit assumed that Takagi was Date as they had the same surname. Thinking that he cheated on Natalie, he kidnapped Takagi. However, he committed suicide upon the police's arrival before he could reveal Takagi's location.

Takagi and Sato's second kiss.

Conan finds out the location of Takagi which he's in Hokkaido Komamae Town and Sato flies down from the helicopter and rescues Takagi before the bomb sets off. For the first time, Sato calls Takagi, "Wataru" and they are seen kissing twice.

Fuemoto actually died from terminal cancer.
