Shinsuke Akiyama is the culprit. He faked his own death using Takeda's lifeless body (whom he first strangled, then he decapitated) as a decoy, and was aiming to kill Saegusa and Yamato too. His motive is that years ago, Yamato and his companions's mistakes led to a serial killer terrorizing Nagano before being shot dead, and one of his victims was Akiyama's beloved younger sister.

The culprit is Saya Kitami, and she is actually 29 years old. She used a recording of Sakurako to lure Kyouna into opening the door for her. The murder weapon was Kyouna Shono's selfie stick, which Saya took to her own apartment. To close Kyouna's apartment door and leave the card inside, she used her toy helicopter. Her motive was that she thought Kyonua knew she had accidentally killed an old man in a car accident and fled the crime scene, but in fact the only secret Kyouna knew was that Saya was actually 5 years older than she claimed to be.
Afterwards, Hyoue Kuroda arrives on the scene, announces that Kiyonaga Matsumoto has been promoted, and that he will be taking his place. Conan looks on in shock and Ai grips his shoulder in fear, as Kuroda asks for Conan's assistance in his new position.

Shinichi notices that Ronsuke is seemingly showing favoritism towards Ran. The reason is because that is preparation for a kidnapping attempt by Ronsuke Efune, his wife and his brother-in-law. Ronsuke's motive is to get a child for his wife to replace their daughter, as she ran away from home, which is why his wife has a mental disorder. Yusaku reveals to Ronsuke that a fan of his that he met a few days ago is actually Ronsuke's daughter, and she has just returned to them. The brother-in-law is arrested, and Ronsuke and his wife decide to give themselves in after that.

The culprit is Akimichi Yamada. He killed Asuka during the second search when he went down to the storage room, then used Higo's and Asuka's phones for the trick, as well as a vacuum, a vacuum compression bag, Asuka's clothes, and an ice pick. Ai finds a discarded phone and bag to provide the evidence. Yamada killed Asuka because Asuka had discovered that he was a fraud.
Higo and Yoko are not dating each other—the watch they were looking at on the cover of the tabloid article was a mutual gift for a retiring high school teacher of theirs, and they were meeting with Asuka to ask him to write a message on the watch.
Ai is thanked by Higo for finding the evidence, and says he's tempted to have her take Takahiro Sanada's place on Big Osaka. The next day, Ai seems determined to prove herself a soccer player, and is enjoying Yoko's music once again.
