Yama (矢間 Yama ) is a character in the anime franchise Detective Conan.

Background
Saito is a detective in plain clothes from Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department division 1. he is a young detective with glasses who obeish the orders without complaining but isn't really discreet since he left the kids run and lost track of one of them (Ayumi). He is able to camoflage through the crowd by wearing civilian clothes but is still visible with his actions. He reports directly and gives complete informations. He has a kin observation sense since he spotted that Ayumi disappeared as other police detectives didn't notice it.

Two-Mix Kidnapping Case (Manga: File 141-143 Anime: 81-82)
His first appearance depict him as one of the police detectives in charge of the investigation on Two-Mix's kidnapping. He surveys the Detective Boys at the train station and noticed one of the kids disappeared. He didn't notice the kid was Conan and not Ayumi and it was too late when the police found out.
Wedding Murder Case (Manga 211-214 Anime: 141-142)
Along with the usual police detectives (Tome, Megure and Takagi), he is charged to investigate the murder at the celebrities' manor. He tries to block the journalists from entering following Megure's orders.

Juzo Megure is his direct superior and he reports directly to him. When he needs a handy, he waits for Megure to come and go heal Ayumi with his superior.

Trivia
- His voice actor, Toshihiko Nakajima, also voices Officer Tome. They once appeared together but he didn't had to voice both of them since Yama was non-speaking.
