Anime
- The names of the characters in the Funimation Dub are:
- Shuji Tsugawa - Sherman Tuttlebore
- Kazuo Tamada - Kyle Gearsbeck
Remastered version
- A remastered version of this case was aired on March 15, 2014.
Trivia
- The inspector that appears during Megure's questioning of Tsugawa has Takagi's earlier character design but he wasn't voiced by Wataru Takagi. He was voiced by Isshin Chiba who later would go on to inspire the creation of and provide the voice for Kazunobu Chiba.
- This is the first time that Ayumi is a target of a murderer, and almost killed.
- This is the first time crime that takes place in a library.
- This is the first episode to really show how bored he is in school, considering he is a genius 2nd year high school brain, and having to do first grade junk.
- In this episode he is having to write a book report for school, and he is only finding boring little kid books that he probably would never read to his own kids. Most likely, he would start the babies on Holmes and mystery genre books, which is probably what his dad did to him.
- Interesting note: Conan does not think of leaving the little kid books, and looking for the more difficult books or at least mystery genre of books in order to do his book report on. This would also let the teacher know that he needs a more challenging curriculum. Instead, he just insults them because he finds them boring and uninteresting and "insepid."
- This episode does not take place at a school library:
- He attends Teitan Elementary School.
- They are at Beika Library.
- Interesting note: Conan does not leave the boring little kid books, and go and look for his Mystery style (Sherlock Holmes) type books to do his book report on, and he can even use his Power-Enhancing Kick Shoes if they are on a high shelf. Let the teacher find out that he is bored in class, and belongs in a higher grade, or at least can do much more challenging schoolwork.
- Plus, if he gets schoolwork for his mental level, he may not fall too far behind when he returns to Shinichi Kudo for good.
- Interesting Note: It is unknown if Conan is doing first grade schoolwork, and actually keeping up with his second year in high school work via computer or mail, which would be good for him to do.
- This is the first body found on top of an elevator.
- Four first grade kids will fit inside a locker, including a fat one.
