Plot

Kogoro Mouri tails a man named Masaki Negishi for three days in a row and gets paid a considerable amount of money for it. But then a corpse is found which gets identified as Negishi according to the news, which is seemingly impossible, since that person must have died before Kogoro's job observing him ended...

Continuity

  • The chapter plays out over two days. Ran Mouri visited Hiroshi Agasa on the first one off-panel, while Conan Edogawa met Kogoro Mouri tailing "Masaki Negishi", which was the third day he did this. On the evening of the second day, at 8 pm, the corpse of the real Negishi gets found in the fire of the Akanoni Village Festival.
  • Tenth chapter of the so-called "Conan Arc", a fan-coined term.
