Referencing

  • Movie 13: The Raven Chaser : Yui Uehara and Kansuke Yamato remind Yamamura that they have met before in a case where a serial murderer killed six people in Tokyo and the surrounding prefectures and that they had been called to HQ, although Morofushi wasn't there at the time. Since movies are de facto non-canon, Gosho could have referenced another case, or only confirmed the joint-task investigation part of the movie.

Trivia

The Detective Conan version of the station, the clock tower and the Labi1 building.
Real-life version of the monument.
Real-life version of the building.
  • The map shown on the chapter cover shows the prefectures of Nagano (dark colour) and Gunma (light colour) in colour, as well as the prefectures of Ishikawa, Toyama, Niigata, Yamagata, Fukui, Gifu, Fukushima, Mie, Aichi, Shizuoka, Yamanashi, Saitama, Tochigi, Ibaraki, Chiba, Kanagawa and the Metropolis of Tokyo in white.
  • In addition to Takasaki Station's east entrance, the first page also features the green clock tower monument in the station's roundabout that was given in 2014 by the Rotary Club[1]. It also shows the Labi1 Life Select building.
  • The hotel where the murder takes place is the real-life Shibutoge Hotel actually located between Gunma and Nagano, although its address is in Nagano. The name is never mentioned in the manga, and the outside colours are slightly different, but the architecture and its particularity definitely point to it being Shibutoge Hotel. It is said by the three suspects that the only place where Nagano's Shinshu Soba and Gunma's Joshu Soba noodles can be ordered at once is that hotel.
  • Yui Uehara mentions that the victim stayed at a hotel at the top of Mount Fuyuna (real-life Mount Haruna), which appears in The Witch Enshrouded by Fog.
  • Local dishes mentioned include Gunma's Mizusawa udon (a type of thick noodle served in a straw dish), Takasaki pasta, Joshu Soba (a type of buckwheat noodle) and Katsudon, as well as Nagano's Shinshu Soba (another type of buckwheat noodle).
