Trivia
- Yukiko's cellphone photo along with Yusaku and baby Shinichi in The The Wizard of the Ripples is from this short story.
- One of the poster in the Planetarium contains the picture of nine planets. It is because the episode was filmed before the 2006 IAU reclassification of the planets, which rules out Pluto and thus there are only eight planets left.
- Editor 6 looks a lot like Kogoro Mouri and is modeled like a younger version of him.
- The sunset beach woman in the hotel room appeared before in Aquacrystal restaurant from The Fourteenth Target; in the apartment building front entrance from The Historical Actor Murder Case, but cut out the woman; and in the Sunset Manor's dining room from The Gathering of the Detectives, but divided into two an with an inverted orientation. In The Shaking Restaurant, the past scene when Aiko Morimura, a girl on Hachijou Island, looked at the sunset sea waiting twenty-one years for her lover's return from Tokyo while bringing up her secret daughter and then died alone last spring after suffered all the hardships, is clearly modeled after this oil painting.
