Motohashi (本橋 Motohashi?) is a character in the anime franchise Detective Conan.

Background

Motohashi is a detective from Yamanashi Prefecture and controls the region near the Yamanashi Michi no eki station. He has an assistant, Detective Fujii. Since he is invited to a police convention in The Disappearance of Conan Edogawa: The Worst Two Days in History, it is supposed that he must be an assistant-inspector.

He is an irritable man and doesn't hesitate to use harsh language to interrogate suspects.

Motohashi is the police detective in charge of the case where Ryutarou Namatame, an old friend of Agasa, was knocked unconscious. He appreciates the Detective Boys' help and arrest the culprits with his assistant Fujii and the local officer Iwanaga.

Motohashi is being sent to headquarters as a representative of Yamanashi Prefecture to investigate the bombing case involving Junitsu Kondo, where he meets Tomonori Ogawara.
