Calvados (カルバドス Karubadosu) is a Black Organization sniper.
Background
Judging on Chianti's reaction toward Vermouth and her part in his death, the two of them knew each other and worked together as snipers. His favorite weapon was a shotgun.
Upon arriving at Beika Airport, Vermouth calls him with orders to shoot a particular person once they are in his sight. Later, he is called by Vermouth to stake out at the docks to help her kill Jodie after, disguised as her, had sent the FBI agents, who were originally hiding there to apprehend her, back.
He shoots Jodie in the stomach and disables her. Just as he was about to kill Haibara, Ran pops up from the truck of Jodie's car to protect her. He repeatedly tries to shoot her down, despite Vermouth's orders to stop, and misses. He stops when Vermouth shoots a bullet in his direction.
Akai later breaks him both of legs and takes his rifle, shotgun, and three handguns. He later commits suicide in order to avoid being taken prisoner for questioning.
Personality
According to the fellow snipers Chianti and Korn, he was infatuated with Vermouth, which she used to her advantage. He willingly obeyed Vermouth's orders during an unsanctioned showdown with the FBI over Haibara. During that showdown, Akai crept up on him unaware and severely injured him. Instead of surrendering to capture and interrogation, he chose to commit suicide with a hidden handgun. Chianti and Korn knew him well enough to be aware of his infatuation and murderously furious at Vermouth for leading him to his death.

Trivia
- In his first appearance, Calvados only appears in a silhouette wearing headphones. It was not until Korn remembered him that his full-face appearance was revealed (file 501 in the manga and episode 425 in the anime).
Manga vs. anime
- In the manga, Calvados' dead body and his hidden handgun can be seen after he commited suicide, the handgun seems to be a revolver. This scene was cut in the anime version.
- In the manga, in which Calvados was remembered by Korn, his face is not shown very well, only a partial bit of his chin can be seen.
