Ruby Jones is Chat Noir. She is not an american, but actually French, due to that in France the birthstones for March and April are Ruby and Sapphire, but in America and Japan Ruby and Sapphire are the birthstones for July and September, so if Ruby was an American, she wouldn't think that hers and Aoko's birthdays are close. She is the daughter a craftman who made the cat eye collection to Ken Mitsuhiro, Dan Mitsuhiro'a father in the design from Marie Antoinette's periode, but when Ken decided to pass the jewels of as having been owned by Marie Antoinette, the craftsman committed suicide rather than use Marie Antoinette's name on his work. When Dan was about to sell the jewels, Chat Noir decided to steal them before they came into the market, knowning that her father wouldn't want them to sell off as genuine Marie Antoinette jewels.
Manga to anime changes
- The scene where Jii researches Chat Noir in the Blue Parrot is unique to the anime.
- The anime includes a few more scenes of Hakuba's vacation in Paris.
- In the anime, Hakuba mentions the exact times in Paris and Tokyo as he finishes his phone call to Kaito. This is not in the manga.
Trivia
- For his suicide's motive, Ruby Jones' father was a devoted royalist.
