Detective Conan in the Arab World
The Detective Conan Anime was first dubbed in the Arab World in about 2000 and the First Episode was broadcasted on Spacetoon.The series is dubbed by Venus Centre.
Detective Conan in arabic is called المحقق كونان Al-Muhaqiq Konan which literally means Detective Konan. Sometimes, it is referred as المفتش كونان Al-Mufatish Konan which means Inspector Konan.
Most of the Characters keep their main names, but some characters with names with four syllables is often reduced to two syllables, Like for Mitsuhiko he is called ميتسو Mitso. Most of characters only have a First name and not a Surname or Vice Versa. All of the TV specials are always divided into two or four parts. And the First Film is the only Film to be dubbed. The Detective Conan series has became very popular in the Arab world and became one of the best Animes of all time.
