Izumi Shimura (志村 泉 Shimura Izumi?) is a Japanese animation director. He does key animation, animation director, and sub-character designing for Detective Conan anime, movies and OVAs.

Works in Detective Conan

Shimura was originally affiliated with Anime R (アニメ·アール) and has been an anime-related worker since 1980.

He joined the production of the Detective Conan anime in 1996, starting with the first TV original Valentine Murder Case and began to serve as key animator. He was then promoted to animation director, starting with Detective Boys Survival Case, and was responsible for single episode animation direction. Shimura quit the anime production team after doing key animation work for the 2nd part of Momotarou Mystery Solving Tour in 2004. In addition, he also had served as the sub-character designer for Kogoro's Date Murder Case, The Famous Potter Murder Case, and The Kamen Yaiba Murder Case.

For the Detective Conan movies, Shimura was present in the movie key animation group every year, but absent since movie 12.
