Since the surname "Jiu" (九) is not a very common name in Chinese, in most cases it is derived from the Shang dynasty and the Spring and Autumn period, which was approximately 3000 years ago. Therefore, the name "Jiu Ri" is most likely a pseudonym[1].

Jiu Ri (九 日 Jiǔ Rì?) is a Chinese animator from Zhejiang Province. They are affiliated with Studio Mindo.

Biography

Jiu Ri joined the production of the Detective Conan anime in 2023, starting with animation direction of Episode 1096: Mitsuhiko Tsuburaya's Detective Notes 2, working along with animators from the studio Mouse[Note 1]. Later, they began to serve as key animator for the anime, until present.

Before their debut as animation director in the anime, the studio they belonged to had participated in the production of Episode 1076: The Charismatic CEO's Secret Plan as well, with the entire studio name credited as the animation director role, it is probable that Jiu Ri had taken part in the production prior.
