Shuka
Shuka (朱夏 Shiyuka) is a Japanese animation studio used for outsourcing. This studio is only involved in the production one of the Detective Conan anime episodes.
It was founded in June 2013, a result of separation of 3rd subsidiary production department of animation studio Brain's Base (ブレインズ･ベース). Hence, the founder of it was its former manager, named Yumi Sato (佐藤 由美).
According to their contract on animation work of Durarara!! x2 (デュラララ!!×2 承), they began to produce the animation of the 2nd season of the anime - in which Brain's Base had produced the 1st season of it. After that, the studio has been regularly taking over some animation works formerly produced by Brain's Base; yet the animators working on them were essentially the same, just under different studio names.
In 2016, they released their first original animation titled 91 Days.
Note that this studio is currently independent of the original studio, but they have also taken over the anime production of the anime Natsume's Book of Friends (夏目友人帳), starting season 5. However, according to many fans watching that series, the quality of animation decreased sharply after the production studio changed to Shuka; numerous unsteady and collapsed frames thus emerged. Which also led to pervasive outsourcing and some weird company choices, this became a recurrent issue mainly in season 6 - simultaneously resulted in the president of Studio Leo, Sumito Sasaki, to step in and serve as episode director in some episodes. Obviously, V1 Studio from TMS Entertainment also worked on the 9th episode of season 6, having some notable TMS key animators present, such as Yasuichiro Yamamoto, Chiemi Hironaka etc.
By reason of the aid from V1 Studio in this episode, in return, Studio Shuka temporarily decided to produce episode 890 of the Detective Conan anime. Precisely, a veteran animator from Detective Conan - Atsushi Aono, frequently worked for Shuka (at that time he had already quit the Detective Conan production for many years). Owing to Aono's long-term experience as animation director and key animator for Detective Conan, Shuka requested Aono to delegate the studio and serve as animation director.
