Takao Kato (加戸 誉夫 Kato Takao) is a Japanese anime director, storyboard artist and technical director. He takes part in the production of Kenyuu Densetsu Yaiba.

Biography
Takao Kato graduated from Osaka University of Arts (大阪芸術大学芸術学部), where he was classmates with fellow animator Shinichiro Kimura (木村 真一郎). In addition, there were times when he was affiliated with the "karasanao no UTA" (ぶらざあのっぽ) established by Takao Koyama (小山 高生); notably, Kato often worked with Akatsuki Yamatoya back then. After that, he entered Productions Reed (プロダクション リード); Kato first became a technical director in animation movie Guyver: The Bioboosted Armor (強殖装甲ガイバー). Then, he participated in many music and digital entertainment initiated by XEBEC and Shogakukan.
In Kenyuu Densetsu Yaiba, Kato was only involved in the production of two episodes.
