Genta Kojima (小嶋元太 Kojima Genta), also known as George Kaminsky in the Funimation dub, is a character in the manga and anime franchise Detective Conan.
Background
Genta Kojima was a student in Teitan Elementary when Shinichi was enlisted in his class after he had been shrunk by the drug APTX 4869. Shortly afterwards, he and his classmate Ayumi had the idea of investigating an apparently haunted mansion. They persuaded Conan to come along, and Genta also personally drafted Mitsuhiko when the latter expressed his criticism about supernatural hauntings.
In fact, the haunting served as a cover-up for an old homicide case. Following its resolution, the foursome decided to stay together and form the nucleus of what would become the Detective Boys. Genta was quick to pronounce himself the leader of the group, but his lacksy-daisical leadership abilities are commonly neglected in the field, and in fact everyone (even Genta) unanimously views Conan as the group's actual leader.
Personality
Genta is the overweight, self-proclaimed leader of the Detective Boys. He loves food, especially braised eel, and can eat more than all the other Detective Boys members combined. Even though he is brash and outspoken and can be intimidating, he is actually very kind. He is a good friend of Ayumi and Mitsuhiko, and has been shown to admire his father, who owns a liquor store.

- Genta clearly has a crush on his teamate Ayumi, and as a result he - along with Mitsuhiko - is rather jealous of Conan because she likes him the most. He has also expressed some interest in Ai Haibara, their newest member.
Name origin
- Genta's name (小嶋 元太) comes from mystery writer Hajime Komine (小峰 元 Komine Hajime). In the English Manga, his name is translated to George Kojima.
