Chase the Mysterious Comet Monster! (謎のすい星怪獣を追え! Nazo no Suisei Kaijū o Oe! ) is the sixth OVA of the series Shogakukan Illustrated Encyclopedia Series. It was released as a VHS with Shogakukan's 21st Century Children's Encyclopedia Space Museum (21世紀こども百科 宇宙館) on November 9, 2001. Its main focus is on the history of Space observation.

Case
The Detective Boys are talking about Kamen Yaiba's new battle against the Mole Alien when they see three suspicious people near the riverbank. They are discussing about a "comet monster" as well as a "rain of blood", which intrigues the kids and after they leave, a blurry picture of the "comet monster" is left behind, which the kids pick up. They come to Conan to figure out who this alien might be.

- This marks Ai Haibara's first appearance in an OVA.
- The actual director of the National Astronomical Observatory of Japan at the time of the release of the episode was Norio Kaifu (1943-2019).
- "Yoshie Murakami" (村上 芳枝) comes from the colorist for this OVA, who has the same name.
- The Teimuzu river appears in this OVA, but the kanji "堤向津川" is different from the one used in the manga and regular anime "堤無津川".
