Part 1
Kogoro Mouri is hired by an anonymous customer later revealed to be Yumeno Arihara, whom he escorted along with the other member from the stage to dressing room 3 years ago but forgot about it anyway, to investigate an anonymous letter she received a week ago stating that they knew what she had done at that faithful day 3 years ago. Of course, the situation he is asked to investigate is also under the eavesdropping of Conan since he did not reveal anything to Ran and Conan before splitting. But here’s the catch: Both Conan and Arihara have already sensed that someone was actually following them.
Arihara recalls the time when she was playing for the band called Albarosa consisting of Kensuke Domon as their drummer and band leader; Jotaro Tanemura as their guitarist; Yoji Kinomoto as their bass; while she was their main vocalist, which was the time when their donated money intended for charity were gone by unknown person, causing massive criticism, and the band to break up. Kogoro at first gives the statement that the two would soon deny: The anonymous must have thought her to be the one to steal it. Then the suspicion rises toward the other three members, that is also when Kogoro finally realizes that they have met each other 3 years ago in the aforementioned event.
Meanwhile, Conan and Ran decide to go from Komatsu station to the Komatsu Hikiyama museum for some Kabuki experiences but Conan tries to call Kogoro to ask for the progress, as the signal is not working there, only to have a gun pointed at his head, thus disrupting the call. Later, Kogoro receives a call from Ran telling that Conan has gone missing, to which he reassures that he is just going somewhere as usual. However, he receives another call from a mysterious man that is later revealed to be Ryusei Inami stating that he has kidnapped Conan, and Inami requests Kogoro to bring all four people from the band Albarosa and not to call the police. However, there is something a bit different compare to an usual kidnapping case.
There, Inami introduces himself to Conan and explains the real purpose why he kidnapped him was to gather all members and show them the footage of the thief stealing money that was donated for Albarosa band for charity purposes.
Meanwhile, Kogoro and Arihara could only gather Tanemura and Domon as Kinomoto’s whereabouts are unclear. Later, Arihara receives a strange call and decides to answer it privately, not knowing that Ran is actually following her. After enjoying their surfing at sunset, Conan and Inami talk about life stuff, with Inami deciding to show Conan about the golden skateboard at his uncle's house nearby, however, it has been sabotaged by someone. And they have to run without much thinking when Conan hears footsteps that could be the sabotager coming toward them. But it seems that someone is trying to kill the two or Inami’s uncle when they realize that the brake from the car that they are driving has broken down as well, causing the car to go over the safety barrier at the bend.
Part 2
Luckily, the two are able to survive thanks to Conan’s elasticity suspenders, however, they are soon confronted by a mysterious person that freaks Inami out. At the next morning, Kogoro, Arihara, Domon, Tanemura, and Ran are discussing why is the guitar box stolen 3 years ago now in Tanemura’s car when Ran reports to her father that Arihara had met with someone who appears to be the last member of Albarosa band but still expresses her worry toward Conan’s safety just as when she receives the call from Conan himself. He apologizes to her and Kogoro for not calling them earlier to tell that he were safe all the time, and tells everyone to stay there waiting for him and the others to arrive, with the footage of the thief 3 years ago sent to him.
