Stolen Information
That's not how wikis work. Wikis operate under legal licenses that allow information to be copied from one to another, even verbatim. That's why there are so many Wikipedia clones everywhere copying text from the main Wikipedia. They are allowed to. The Conan wikia follows the "Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike License 3.0". Ours mentions Wikipedia's "GNU Free Documentation License".) We can copy Wikia's text and take their pictures freely, provided we also keep the information about the sourcing intact. The Wikia can likewise copy everything from here, even make a complete clone if they want. For more information see Wikipedia's page on the topic.
As a side note Conan pictures, screenshots, and like don't belong to either wiki; they belong to Gosho and publishers/anime distributors, and we are borrowing them on a fair use basis as reference. It doesn't matter who uploads them where, they're all Aoyama' and friends' stuff, and both wikis are borrowing from them. Chekhov MacGuffin talk 07:14, 17 February 2013 (PST)
- Later Edit: Even if it is technically allowed, I agree that copying text from your wikia makes DCWorld look bad and unoriginal. I have put out a request on the forum to try to rectify this. I hope we can resolve this soon to our mutual satisfaction. Chekhov MacGuffin talk 08:21, 17 February 2013 (PST)
- I agree it is frustrating. I hope the credit to DC Wikia will assuage your concerns in the short term. Hopefully me and some other users can make this right soon. In the short term, I will busy IRL so it will be hard to personally research to rewrite the pages, but I'll make it my top priority in the coming weeks. Thanks for your patience.
