In the manga, the 3-D movie that Kaito and Aoko go to is titled Captain E.T.; in the special anime version, it is a Kamen Yaiba movie (the original manga predates both Kamen Yaiba and Yaiba, another one of Gosho Aoyama's manga).
Name Origin
The name Kamen Yaiba is a combination of a parody of the Tokusatsu tv show Kamen Rider, as well as Gosho Aoyama's previous manga and anime Yaiba.
