Kogoro, Ran, and Conan pass by chance next to a construction site for a building game named "Fan Fan", where there is verified a tragic accident. The owner of the facility is overwhelmed by some metal pipes and dies instantly. CSI officers note that the strap that held the pipe is cut, so there is not an accident but a murder.

For kill the victim, the murderer would have to climb the stack and show himself to those present, but other than the victim none of the three workers approached the scene of the crime. Conan investigates to find out how it is possible to cause this fake accident and engages the culprit along with Kogoro's voice.
