Okiya continues to say (while approaching Aosato) that for those reasons, the success rate of a fugitive is infinitesimal, and he also questions Aosato’s ability to withstand the immeasurable loneliness and pressure that accompanies an escape. Aosato is apparently shaken by the brutal truths that Okiya has uttered, and in an attempt to restore his confidence points his dagger at Okiya. This act turns out to achieve the opposite of what it intended to, as Okiya is completely unafraid; he hits Aosato’s extending arm and sends the dagger flying in the air. As Aosato stupidly watches his weapon fall into the bottomless sea, with astonishment written on his face, Okiya swiftly steals Ayumi from him and tells her kindly that the danger is over. As Yokomizo takes the defeated criminal away, Ayumi, Genta and Mitsuhiko cheer for Okiya, but Haibara only gets more frightened. She hides behind an unconcerned Conan, holds onto him tightly and thinks to herself that Okiya is undoubtedly from the Black Organization. | ||
