Kana Miyai (宮井 加奈 Miyai Kana?) is a Japanese animation director, key animator, and character designer. She takes part in the production of Detective Conan anime and movies.

Biography

Kana Miyai was originally affiliated with Studio Wanpack. Miyai graduated from Yoyogianimeshongakuin Osakako (代々木アニメーション学院大阪校)[1]. In 2009, she joined the production of the Detective Conan anime, starting with Episode 526: A Present from the True Culprit and served as a key animator.

From Episode 542: Ikkaku Rock's Disappearing Fish (Part 1) onwards, Miyai began to do animation direction in the anime. Nonetheless, her works in Detective Conan had noticeable collapsed tendencies in the animation, it only until the end of 2011 that the situation had improved.

In 2012, after finishing the work in Episode 654: The Design of Poison and Mirage (Poison), Miyai stepped down from the animation director role. After that, the regular animation director of Studio Wanpack was changed to Miho Tanaka.
