Season 20

Season 20 aired in 2015. This year, there were a total of 41 episodes: 19 for manga adaptation; 22 for anime-original. Remastered broadcast for 7 weeks. TV Special Happy New Year, Kogoro Mouri aired in regular schedule for 1 week. There were breaks totalling to 3 weeks.

The drug dealer looses his notebook and Conan finds that there's a code inside about a drug exchange which is going to take place that same day. In order to stop it, they'll first need to solve the code and find the location and exact time. Conan mentions to Haibara that he emailed Masumi (offscreen) asking about the Unknown child, to which she responds as the girl told her, that "she is his sister from another domain". He asks Haibara what that might mean, but she does not know.

With the help of Heiji, they found out that the exchange is going to take place in Osaka. Heiji runs to the place and finds that Kazuha is there talking with one of the suspects. Heiji starts a fight against drug agents (mistaken as dealers) because they took Kazuha away from the meeting place. After clearing the misunderstanding, Kazuha asks Heiji about his words. Heiji avoids the discussion by pointing the lack of evidence. Conan is shown to have a recording of his words.

Haibara loves to hear Yoko Okino's songs due to the fact that Ryusuke Higo likes them too.

Conan, Haibara, Agasa and the Detective Boys spend the weekend at a cottage with the three sisters who own it and the little sister's boyfriend. After dinner, the little sister realized she ran out of medicine and her boyfriend volunteers to walk through the storm to bring her more. Once the storm has ended, everyone decides to look for him since he was taking too long, and they find him dead on the snow.

Mouri is targeted by a killer who is after Kimura. Mouri accidentally took his jacket at a bar and now the killer is trying to kill him. Conan finds out that Kimura is not who he seems to be. Kimura is said to be at a lake and Mouri goes to investigate. There he is seemingly shot by the culprit but, in fact, Conan has set a dummy in Mouri's place. The culprit reveals his motive was revenge.

Conan and the Detective Boys run into a man who had a knife in his hand and was being chased by a police officer. The man grabs Ayumi and faints while whispering something into her ear. Conan and the Detective Boys accompany the man and the police to the hospital and learn that he had some contusion on his head and the police officer was chasing him because he seemed suspicious.

Eri is hospitalized due to appendicitis. While being at the hospital, Kogoro and Conan run into Bourbon. At the same time, a patient was having a tea party with three friends when one of them is poisoned. Once he learns that Eri has undergone surgery, Kogoro rushes to the hospital worried about her. Bourbon asks Conan about Rikumichi Kusuda. Bourbon used to be called "Zero".

Bourbon and Conan help with the investigation and arrive to the conclusion that the culprit must have switched her cup with the victim in order to poison her. There is one problem though: each one of them is drinking a tea of a different color. Takagi shares information about Rikumichi Kusuda being a patient at Haido Central Hospital and about the bloodstains found inside his car. Bourbon is scolded by a woman that looks similar to Elena Miyano.

Jirokichi Suzuki receives a letter from Kaitou Kid which reveals that Kid plans on opening Jirokichi's impenetrable safe, the Iron Tanuki. The letter however is not written in Kid's usual style raising the ideal that an imposter is after Jirokichi's safe. Sonoko invites Ran, Kogoro, and Conan to Jirokichi's house. After examining the security of the safe, Kaitou Kid's card, in its usual style, is found confirming Kaitou Kid's plan to open the safe. Conan suspects that Kaitou Kid is one of the three newly hired workers of Jirokichi. Jirokichi however countinues to proclaim it to be the work of an imposter, causing Conan to suspect Jirokichi's behavior. Kaitou Kid goes after Suzuki's safe. Heist: Iron Tanuki

The nearly hired maid and adviser inform Conan of Jirokichi's strange behavior. They reveal that after dinner, two places are always missing and Jirokichi always brings his cane with him to the safe. Jirokichi asks the maid for a hand and they head to his room. Jirokichi leaves with his bodyguard for a drive. Shortly after, an unconscious Jirokichi is found tied up and his room and a note of Kaitou Kid is found on the safe. This causes the whole police force that are guarding the safe to abandon their position and chase after "Jirokichi". Conan meanwhile enters the room with the safe revealing the maid was Kaitou Kid in disguise. Conan reveals the first message by "Kaitou Kid" was actually done by Jirokichi asking for Kaitou's kid assistance. Conan also reveals Jirokichi purposely placed suspicion on himself in order to clear the area of cops so Kaitou Kid can open the safe. Inside the safe is revealed to be Jirokichi's dog, Lupin. Kid does a favor for Suzuki.

This episode begins with a flashback outside Haido Central Hospital, where Tooru Amuro obtains information from Detective Takagi regarding Rikumichi Kusuda and deduces that Rikumichi was shot by a gun. At the present, Natsuko Shibuya, a teacher at Haido Elementary School, receives a call from Jodie Starling while grading math tests at night. Natsuko tells Jodie she needed to meet with some parents soon after. After the conversation, Andre Camel asks Jodie about Natusko, and Jodie tells him that Natusko was her acquaintance. Natsuko was involved in a case while studying abroad in America, and Jodie helped her out. Jodie also reveals that she was able to go undercover in Japan as an English teacher because Natsuko taught her Japanese. Natsuko Shibuya is introduced. Bourbon knows that Jodie and Camel are FBI agents.   Bourbon and Vermouth appear. Jodie and Camel appear. Hidemi Hondou's retrieval and Mystery Train cases.

Inspector Megure and Detective Takagi question the three suspects again, this time in further detail. After this, they, Jodie, Andre, Amuro, and Conan examine the picture containing Natsuko's graded tests. Amuro and Conan immediately figure out who the culprit is. Conan asks Amuro whether he's an enemy of the bad guys. Conan confronts Bourbon directly with his suspicion of him being an BO member. Camel is fooled by Vermouth in disguise as Jodie.

Andre meets up with Jodie and Conan only to realize that the Jodie he talked to previously was Vermouth. Because Andre leaked out the fact that Rikumichi shot himself, Amuro now knows that Shuichi indeed faked his death. Bourbon and Vermouth learns that Rikumichi Kusuda dies from a gunshot suicide. Vermouth disagree with Bourbon about Shuichi Akai's fake death. Jodie and Camel revisit Raiha Pass to investigate Shuichi's death.

Subaru Okiya invites Tooru Amuro into Shinichi's house for some tea and Amuro begins to explain Shuichi's faked death trick. Meanwhile, Jodie and Andre, on their way to Raiha Pass, also realize that Shuichi's death was faked. In reality, the one who planned all of this was not Shuichi, but actually Conan. Shuichi Akai returns. Bourbon "confronts" Subaru to reveal the truth. Jodie figures out that Subaru is Shuichi.

Shuichi takes out a gun and shoots down the front car's tires, causing all of Amuro's colleagues' cars to crash into each other and be rendered useless for further pursuit. However, Shuichi tells Andre to turn back and drive toward the cars. Back at Shinichi's house, as Amuro got the news that Shuichi shot the cars down, Yusaku Kudo begins to make his speech upon being rewarded the Best Original Script award. He reveals that the man who inspired him to write "The Scarlet Investigator" was Shuichi Akai. During the speech, Ran was surprised to see Yusaku acting strangely cute.   Bourbon and Vermouth appear. Shukichi Haneda is at Tokiwa Hot Springs, preparing for his shogi match for the title of Meijin. As he was talking to two women, a picture of Yumi Miyamoto fell out of his robe. When he picked up the photo, he thought back to two days ago, when Yumi told him she already through away the envelope he asked her to not open until he obtains all seven because he never called her ever since he gave it to her. After that small conversation, she stormed out of the cafe, where they were talking; when he came out, she was nowhere to be seen. As he tries to find her, a stranger watches him in a car, carrying an evil smile. Chikara Katsumata is introduced.

Conan, Shukichi, Professor Agasa, Haibara, and the Detective Boys arrive at Yureizaka and are heading towards a graveyard in the middle of that slope. The "seven" and "three" on the incense chariot piece refer to Kiyomasa's Seven Spears and the Three Great Spears of Japan. The overlapping region between the two spears represents Masanori Fukushima, a person of the Seven Spears who owns Hinomotogo, one of the Three Great Spears. The upside-down T is the cartographic symbol for graveyards. When asked by Professor Agasa who the kidnapper may be, Shukichi thinks back to a shogi match he played against the very same culprit. That incident was the culprit's motive for kidnapping Yumi. Shukichi is revealed to be a sharp-minded person. Shukichi wins the Meijin title (the remaining of the seven shogi titles that he didn't posses). Sera invites Conan to her hotel room to talk with him. Yumi kisses Shukichi.

Masumi Sera and the unknown child are in their hotel room, waiting for Conan to arrive. The child is questioning whether they can actually trust him even though she thinks he's clever, but Masumi assures her everything will be fine. She warns Masumi that if Conan is not worth their time, they will have to leave and find a new base of operations. After the warning, she hides in the bathroom as Masumi opens the door to welcome Conan in. The meeting fails to happen, as a result in Conan, Ran, Sonoko and Sera go enjoy the hotel pool until a case happens. Sera tells the Unknown child that they can trust Conan. They wait to meet Conan there, but that never happens as Ran and Sonoko tag along.

Inspector Megure and Detective Takagi take everyone to the reception counter. The two women at the counter tell them the only people who entered the pool after it was closed were Conan, Masumi, Ran, Sonoko, Raito, Hamaka, Ensaku, and the bellboys. After Nagami said she would search for the necklace alone, the first person to return to the reception area was the hotel manager, at 12:05. During that time, she was looking for her necklace, and it took a while for her to notice Ensaku was standing behind her. When she saw him, she told him he was interfering, so he left the pool quickly. Ran has a feeling that she has met Sera and Unknown child before.

Kogoro is at Nichiuri TV Office, filming "Detective VS Weather Reporter" with Yasumi Sekine while Conan and Ran watch at the sidelines with Yukio Kodama, Takuya Yamaguchi, and Hiroko Shinohara. After the filming, Kogoro and Ran rest in a room while Conan goes to a vending machine to buy a bottle of oolong tea. As he picks up the bottle, he notices Yasumi and Yukio conversing secretly; after the small talk, they head out and split off. Then, Takuya hesitantly comes out of a room and follows Yasumi, and Conan follows him. Yasumi meets with Hiroko, who tells her the stage is good and ready. Hiroko asks her if she wanted to check the stage, but she said no because she trusted her.

A famous singer from the band Two-Mix is kidnapped and they demand the Detective Boys to deliver the bag belonging to the singer. The police tail the Detective Boys and when captured, find out Ayumi is disguised as Conan and that the kidnappers demanded Ayumi to deliver the item. Two-Mix's first appearance. Agasa invents the Earring Cellphone.

Conan meets up with the kidnappers and just when he was about to defeat them, the Detective Boys arrive and are captured. The kidnappers leave and then set the room on fire. While at the concert, the Detective Boys accidentally start the music too early, and if stopped it will anger the crowd even more. Conan tries to sing but that angers the crowd. The singer then takes the Detective Boys out with her to sing.

Yukio Kanzaki, who is a clerk of Beikado Supermarket, was warned a killing twice. He asked chief Katsumi Utagawa's advice. Then, Utagawa suggested Kanzaki should visit a detective agency. Kanzaki and Utagawa went to the Mouri Detective Agency. Kogoro investigated people who are think ill of Kanzaki, however, the people were not found. Kogoro thought the warning was a prank call. Next day, Kanzaki was going to disguise as Bekapon, however, he had a stomachache, so clerk Gyosuke Shimomura disguised instead Kanzaki. However, a attempted murder case was happened, and a victim was Shimomura as Bekapon. When the case was happened, the criminal was saying "Die, Kanzaki!"

Conan asks Haibara to give him information about Rum, the new Black Organization member who is on the move. She says she doesn't know much about him, but she knows that the descriptions about Rum are always different. Some people say Rum looks feminine, others say he looks like a well-built man, and some other people describe him as an old man. However, there is a common characteristic about him that she can't recall. It turns out that the Detective Boys end up involved in a case again and the three suspects fit each one of the descriptions about Rum. Ai Haibara gives Conan some information about Rum.

The lot is located next to an eight-story building, and was formerly the site of a mansion which is already torn down, with only a family-sized pool and a shed remaining. However, when they arrive at the lot, they find the grounds crowded by the police: A body has been found in the pool.

The police (Inspector Megure, Detective Sato, and some others), dressed in Cheetah Delivery uniforms, Kogoro, and Conan are at the Saekis' house, ready to carry out the plan to catch Reina's kidnapper. Before the housekeeper, Suzuko Tanaka, sets out to deliver 100 million yen of ransom to the kidnapper, Conan sneakily places a transmitter on the her sleeve.

Kogoro takes Ran and Conan to Tottori prefecture to come up with a story for the first Super Mystery Award. He brings them to Tottori Sand Dunes, ties up Conan, and throws him down, because he wants to write a story of how a kid who is tied up and abandoned at the sand dunes escapes from danger; in other words, he is using Conan to find inspiration. However, since this place has numerous tourists, someone is definitely bound to save any kid in that situation. As a result, he gives up on that story and that award, and they go sightseeing instead.
