The Detective Boys were locked inside a department store after hours. They were returning to retrieve Genta's autograph of Yaiba, a fictional super hero. They decide to visit the security room to ask to be released. They find robbers have tied up the security guards and the elevator girl.

Conan confronts the elevator lady Ryoko and exposes her as the fifth member of the robber group.

• As the remaining members were busy chasing after the Detective Boys on the upper floor, only she who was "confined" at the security room could've activate the escalator to obstruct their escape.
• Ryoko's role in the robbery is to get employed in various department stores as an elevator lady in order to gather information and plan out the robbery, and by pretending to be one of the hostages no one would ever suspect her of being involved with the crime.

Unknown to Conan, Ryoko is not just a normal member of the robber group but is actually the leader of the gang.

While the Detective Boys have managed to capture the four known robbers and hijackers, Conan encounters the leader of the gang, and she tries to shoot him with a pistol.

Soon the robbers were arrested while Ran, Kogoro, and Megure watch the Detective Boys sleep. The next day, the Detective Boys receive a reward for catching the five robbers.

Remastered version

• A remastered version of this case was aired on October 31, 2015. Some dialogues between the Detective Boys were cut in order to fit the time slot.

• Insert song: HAPPY END, by ZIGGY.
• According to the Detective Boys in The Mysterious Mole Alien Case, this case happens a month before the current one they're in.
• The culprit shoots at Conan with a Beretta 8000 Cougar.
