With the two's date compromised, Shiratori takes a well-deserved nap. Back at the police headquarters, Inspector Megure asks Kazunobu Chiba why Shiratori is leading thirty officers on a drug bust. Chiba replies they have reliable intel pointing to the notorious drug dealer, Asakichi Yakura, carrying out his next transaction at Tropical Marine Land. Takagi is seen sitting on a park bench, disappointed. Sato approaches him with a smile, saying, "think of it as a rehearsal for when we bring our own kids here." Takagi, justifiably flustered, takes the opportunity to give her a ring. Shiratori's team panics, but Takagi pulls out a bag instead. Seen as they're lost, Kogoro decides to approach the only house in sight—despite heavy protests by Ran and Sonoko. The door is answered by a weary old man who shuns them away, but Akashi appears and invites them in. He makes Conan a sling and gives him warm clothes. He also feeds the group his exceptional curry rice, which Ran assumes his wife made. The tennis instructor says his wife has passed, and he was always the better cook. Akashi then gives his father the dish but doesn't return for over forty minutes. Kogoro complains about the unusually low-hanging lamp pull switch, but a returning Akashi explains that it's for his hunched father to use. He tells everyone he had a long conversation with his father, who made suicidal remarks. <br> |

Ran complies and notices the light is still on. As she makes her return, she hears the sounds of the father crying. A little while later, she checks again and, this time, notices the lights are off. She and Conan go to open his door softly, but to their horror, they see the old man has hanged himself, with blood dripping from his mouth. |

+ | Ran's scream echoes through the house, gathering everyone at the crime scene. Though technically on the Nagano prefecture's side of the border, Akashi calls the Gunma prefectural police as their headquarters are closer. To Kogoro and Conan's disappointment, a jolly Inspector Yamamura arrives at the house. Kogoro explains that the victim's name is Iwao Akashi, who died roughly thirty minutes ago. Everyone except for Kogoro has an alibi, causing Yamamura to suspect the detective, but he retorts he just met the man. Yamamura wonders why Iwao bled from his mouth as hanging oneself will not cause such bleeding. Akashi states his adoptive father, Iwao, had dental work done on his cavity 2-3 days ago. After finding the victim is missing a tooth, Kogoro pronounces this case as a suicide, saddening Yamamura as he'll be unable to record a Sleeping Kogoro Deduction Show. Conan wonders why the lamp's pull switch is so high off the ground, as Iwao wouldn't be able to reach it. Akashi explains they adjusted its height after the string once got into the old man's eye.<br>
+ | The group sits at a table. Sonoko asks if Akashi fishes as she finds a fishing catalog on the shelf. The man replies he does not, and the book belonged to his late wife. Conan becomes increasingly suspicious of Akashi as he made Ran retrieve Iwao's dish twice, and he served someone who recently removed a tooth, spicy curry, an unideal dish for that scenario. In addition, no one would make enough curry to feed six people for two unless he expected visitors. Inspector Yamamura enters the room and asks Akashi if he knows what caused the marks on Iwao's wrists. He said Iwao tended to want to wrap everything with rubber bands and often tied them around his wrists. Yamamura understands as they found rubber bands on the floor and a dirty handkerchief Iwao likely used to wipe his mouth while eating. Ran tells the inspector how she heard Iwao crying in his room when she first checked on him, sparking a thought in Conan's mind. The boy rushes upstairs and looks in Iwao's mouth, seeing his tooth hole has not shown signs of healing, meaning the tooth was pulled moments ago. He then rummages through Iwao's plate of curry and discovers the missing tooth. With the mystery solved, Conan readies his Stun-Gun Wristwatch, but as he goes to say something, he realizes he's lost his voice.

+ | With his voice gone, Conan has no choice but to use hand symbols and sign language to communicate with his usual deduction puppets. The boy begins by using a rice cracker as a prop to convey "candy (Okashi {おかし})." He then uses hand gestures to say "one (i {い})" and "four (yo {よ})" to complete the phrase: "Something is wrong (Okashi i yo {おかし い よ})." He continues to make similar gestures to convey the abnormal amount of curry Akashi had in stock. The tennis instructor, however, claims he was expecting his usual tennis friends, but they canceled today due to rain. Conan then points out how the curry was too spicy for someone who lost a tooth, as one of Yamamura's officers informs him of the recently discovered tooth in the curry.

− | + | | |
− | + | Conan then gestures "seven (na {な})," "two (ni {に})," "mosquito (ka {か})," "tail (o {を})," and "bite (kandeita {かんでいた})" to make the sentence: "He was biting something (Na ni ka o kandeita {な に か を かんでいた})." Conan uses Yamamura's tie to show what happened to Iwao visually. He was hung from the rope with only his bite to keep himself up. Thus, his tooth popped out from the strain, and the noises Ran heard were not him crying but him moaning. Additionally, the culprit avoided Iwao's blood getting on the rope by sandwiching the dirty handkerchief between his mouth and the rope. Kogoro questions why Iwao didn't use his hands, but Conan shows his hands were tied with the lamp's pull switch in a butterfly knot. That way, when Iwao eventually gives in and falls, the lamp switch is pulled, turning the lights off, and the knot is unraveled. <br>
− | + | To tie Iwao's hand with the pull switch, Yamamura points out that the extended portion of the line will have to be removed before being tied back on. Kogoro notices the pull switch on the first floor uses a fisherman's knot to extend the length, but Ran remembers the switch on the second floor used a reef knot. Kogoro deduces the culprit did not know how to tie/untie a fisherman's knot. Thus he cut a portion of the switch off and tied it back on using a different knot. Therefore, the culprit is Hiroto Akashi, a man who did not know the fisherman's knot.<br>
+ | Motive:<br> | ||
+ | While Hiroto Akashi was running errands in Tokyo, Iwao had woken Hiroto's sick wife, asking her to make him something. She traveled three kilometers in the rain to the nearest supermarket to buy ingredients, but on the return trip, she tripped and fell—dying as a result. A few days after the funeral, Hiroshi overheard Iwao praying to his alter, saying, "Next time, I want something that'll last longer... A sturdy toy like Hiroto." The man had thought his adoptive father's constant complaints were a sign he had accepted him as his son, but based on Iwao's words, it was clear he only saw him and his wife as a toy/tool.

+ | On the car ride home, Inspector Yamamura laments being unable to capture a Sleeping Kogoro Deduction Show. Ran realizes she got a phone call from an unknown caller last night—Sonoko tells her Conan picked it up. Even though it was just a caller with the wrong number, Ran believes it was Shinichi and asks Conan what he said. The boy attempts to gesture the sentence: "Sorry for making you worry," but Ran mistakenly interprets it as "I don't like X-cup breasts." The two girls debate the meaning of his message as Conan, annoyed, looks on with a blank expression.

+ | Professor Agasa enlists the help of the Detective Boys in locating an invitation letter for a colleague's son's wedding. Haibara arrives, yawning as usual. Conan deduces her and Ayumi woke up early in the morning and went to the pet coop at the back of the school—where the ginkgo trees line the street—to feed the class bunny. As evidence, he points to the ginkgo pedals in their hair. He then remembers how Agasa would leave read letters atop the television, leading him to believe the invitation is lost behind the device. Mitsuhiko investigates and finds piles of letters tucked beneath the cords. Agasa reviews the letters, finding countless messages he previously thought were lost forever. However, one of them, in particular, catches his eye. Conan hands Agasa the found invitation but sees the man wistfully looking at a letter that looks to be written by a child. Agasa explains the letters from an old friend of his from sixth grade. <br>
+ | On the first day of school, he discovered a crying girl from two grades below who wore her hat deep on her head. She had feared animals ever since a dog bit her as a child, and she was now too scared to walk past a house that kept a fierce dog in the yard. She managed to progress by hiding behind Agasa. The boy felt pity for the girl, so he took her to his friend's house, who owned a hamster, allowing her to regain her confidence around animals. Soon, the two happily walked to school together without fear of the neighbor's dog. However, by the end of November, the girl suddenly stopped coming to school. Agasa went to her house to investigate, but her neighbor told him her family had recently moved, leaving him with a letter. <br>
+ | The letter states the girl's gratitude for their time together, telling him they can meet again in ten years at a special place of memories. If he's busy, they can meet in another ten years. The letter is signed with the surname Kinoshita, with the first name now illegible. Coincidentally, today marks the fortieth anniversary of that promise, meaning the Kinoshita might be waiting for Agasa at that "memorable place." Unfortunately, Agasa doesn't remember her first name or her current address, leaving them no choice but to figure out where she is waiting for him. Conan notices a hint written on the back of the letter: "4163 33 6 0," and "The clue is 'Animals.'" <br>
+ | The Detective Boys think to ask Kogoro Mouri for help, but he's busy at a joint event between Yoko Okino and Misa Nakayama. Agasa hears the name "Misa" and finds familiarity in it. The boys then decide to consult Sonoko on the case, but she's with Ran, in line to buy the new limited edition Fusae Brand bag. Genta wonders what's so good about the Fusae bags, but Haibara vehemently defends them, stating their purses and handbags are decorated with the trademark ginkgo leaf pattern. Ayumi wonders if the numbers on the letter represent the number of each type of animal in the pens, but Agasa highlight's its impracticality. He does, however, mention how the original curator of the Tohto Zoo, Yoichiro Kobata, gifted the Teitan Elementary School its pet turtle. The Detective Boys hear the name "Yoichiro-san (よういちろう さん)" and convert it to numbers: "4 (Yo {よ})," "1 (Ichi {いち})," "6 (Rou {ろう})," and "3 (San {さん})" = "4163" which matches the first four numbers of the clue, and deduce it points to the Tohto Zoo.<br>
+ | The group heads to the zoo, determined to find Agasa's first love. Haibara wonders about the numbers written beside the animal names. A Zoo worker tells her that's the order in which Mr. Kobata acquired each animal. The boys ask the worker which animal is the thirty-third, to which he responds, the Donkey. The kids rush to find the exhibit, leaving Conan in the dust. Once they arrive at the Donkey's home, they see an old woman standing before the fence.
==== File 411 - The Place of Memory ==== | ==== File 411 - The Place of Memory ====
+ | The Detective Boys comment on how old Agasa's supposed first love looks. Once Agasa returns from his conversation, he tells the group that was Noi-san, the former owner of the dog that terrorized Kinoshita. Back to the drawing board, Haibara asks the professor if he remembers anything about the girl. He lists how she had big eyes, loved the school's pet chickens, had freckles, and always deeply wore her hat to cover her hair. The Detective boys try turning the "33 6 0" part of the clue into words, coming up with musasabi. The group heads for the musasabi exhibit and see another woman. Agasa approaches her, but finds that it was Haruo Chouno, the boy who lent him the hamster as a child, who has since switched genders. Seen as it was another case of mistaken identity, Agasa says his goodbyes and the Detective Boys decide to call Sonoko for help.<br>
+ | Ran picks up their call, answering that they're still in line for the new Fusae Brand Bag. Conan hangs up. As Ran puts her phone away, Sonoko returns and comments how uncharacteristic of her to want to buy a brand item. Ran answers she's just fulfilling an old promise.<br>
+ | Back at the zoo, the group tries calling "Kinoshita" on the loud speaker, but no one arrives. Out of options, Agasa decides to give up as he wants his image of her to remain pure. He opens the door, unleashing a gust of wind that blows the letter out of Ayumi's hands. Seeing the girl trying to fetch what the wind blew away, Agasa remembers a crucial element of the story about his first love. Kinoshita's hat was once blown away by the wind, and as Agasa retrieved her hat for her, she remained squatted covering her hair and cried for him not to look at it. He tells the boys that her hair wasn't brown. Haibara deduces it must've been blonde, and she wore a hat to hide it since she experienced racism in the classroom. Learning that the girl was part European, Conan reexamines the signs on the Zoo enclosures and begins to figure out the true meaning of the girl's clue.

+ | <spoiler> | ||
+ | | ||
+ | The numbers were referencing the number letters used in an animal's cry:
+ | *4-1-6-3 = cock-a-doodle-doo (chicken)
+ | *3-3 = bow-wow (dog) | ||
+ | *6 = squeak (hamster) | ||
+ | *0 = No animals | ||
+ | The chicken points to the Elementary School, where the girl liked to feed the chickens.
+ | The dog points to Noi-san's house, where she had to bypass the scary dog to get to school.
+ | The hamster represents the Chouno house, where the hamster was kept.
+ | The "No animals" represents the Kinoshita house, as ever since she was bit by a dog, her house kept no animals.
+ | |||
+ | By combining the words Elementary School (Shougakkou (小学校)), Noi (のい), Chouno (ちょうの), and Kinoshita (きのした) into one long phrase, you get the Japanese sentence: "Shougakkounoichounokinoshita (小学校のイチョウの木の下)," which in English is: "Under the ginkgo trees by the elementary school."

+ | | ||
+ | The Detective Boys arrive at the location but see no one around. However, Ayumi notices the car she saw in the morning is still parked across the street. Believing it's Agasa's first love, Genta runs to investigate but finds the vehicle empty. While the boys debate what to do next, Agasa notices a beautiful woman standing under a ginkgo tree. Genta pushes the Professor towards her, but as they meet, a man emerges from behind the tree, talking to the woman before returning to the car. Agasa and the woman, Fusae Kinoshita, converse. She assumes the Detective Boys are Agasa's grandchildren. Conan recalls seeing her before, as he has a flashback to when he was a first grader. Ran was waiting under a ginkgo tree in the rain as she did not have an umbrella. Fusae, who had been waiting there ten years earlier, handed Ran her umbrella while the young girl promised to buy a Fusae Brand item. Shinichi soon arrives and the two part ways—Ran honoring that promise to this day.<br>
+ | Fusae and Agasa say goodbye, and the former joins her "husband" in the car. Agasa thinks about his interaction with the woman while Fusae orders her husband—revealed just to be her friend Billy—to drive the vehicle. Fusae expresses her regrets as she feels Agasa hasn't fully remembered her. She fondly recalls how when her hat went flying, exposing her blonde hair, Agasa said he liked it, comparing its color to the ginkgo leaves. Fusae, holding in tears, states this'll be the last time she comes here, but after Agasa shouts, "I'm still very fond of ginkgo leaves," Fusae asks for Billy to bring her back in another ten years. The driver smiles, saying their next meeting will likely come much sooner, as they see Agasa wave in the rearview mirror.

He explains that a wealthy woman came to his agency and asked for the detective to find the houseworker who is planning to murder her husband. Kogoro laughs as the woman promised to pay ten million yen (~$100,000) if he succeeds. A few days later, Ran calls her mother, Eri Kisaki, for help. She explains that the woman's evidence for Kogoro wasn't substantial enough to deduce anything. And prior to his visit, Kogoro had spent three million yen (~$30,000) on drinks with the neighbors. Additionally, in an attempt to gain back his losses, Kogoro lost five million yen (~$50,000) on horse race bets. Eri, flabbergasted, urges her daughter to leave the man and live with her, but Ran says Kogoro is muttering "save me Eri," in his sleep. Hearing this, Eri asks her assistant, Midori Kuriyama, to clear her schedule as she leaves for the Mouri Detective Agency. Eri arrives to cheer Kogoro up but hears him muttering about Yoko Okino instead. Conan thinks it's because of the Yoko Okino four-minute cooking program on TV. Eri clarifies that she's only helping for Ran's sake, not Kogoro.<br>
+ | In the car, Eri reviews the situation. The target in question is Mikio Fujieda, whom Eri knows by word of mouth. In his youth, the man was a gigolo who eventually fished a rich woman to be his wife—then used her money to fund his sketchy businesses, which often got him in legal troubles. The wife had died half a year ago, meaning the woman who dealt with Kogoro was his former mistress, now newly betrothed. The group reaches the gate, where they're greeted by Sohachi Ueki, the butler of the establishment. He guides them through the immaculate garden, maintained by Kouzou Doi, a deeply reserved gardener who only conversed with Ueki and Mikio's late wife. The group is also greeted by the former wife's younger brother, Shigeru Fujieda, who Eri seems interested in, worrying Ran. After entering the mansion, Yukio's very young wife, Motoka, shows them the evidence: two slips of paper containing a threatening message and a single used bullet. Unfortunately, all fingerprint analyses were inconclusive as Mikio had conducted an amateur investigation where all of the house's staff touched the evidence.<br>

The butler tells the guests how Yukio installed security cameras in the house after the incident but doesn't want to spend too much money as he intends to tear the building down soon. Suddenly, they hear Motoka's angry shouts, which prompt them to check things out. They approach the scene to see Yukiko Kudo standing at the entrance.

Missing Ring Case
File 404 - Be on Guard on a Sweet Date!
Ninzaburo Shiratori and his gang of Miwako Sato fans subject Wataru Takagi to a series of fiery interrogations. They believe Takagi is lying about attending an alumni gathering, as one of the officers found a ticket to a baseball game stuffed in Takagi's desk. Takagi's mental fortitude is pushed to the limit as his colleagues close in around him.
A few days later, at Tropical Marine Land, Takagi fills in Sato about his interrogations but promises he told them nothing about their date. Though Sato is skeptical, Takagi reassures her he purposefully placed the baseball ticket on his desk to throw the investigators off their scent. Suddenly, Takagi feels like he's being watched. In the bushes, two police officers surreptitiously report the couple's actions to a truck parked outside the amusement park. Inside, Shiratori directs his subordinates as he strengthens his resolve to disrupt their date.
Seeing that Sato is in an unusually good mood, Shiratori directs two undercover officers to walk by the couple while loudly badmouthing the police. The plan works as Sato storms off to the bathroom. In his date's absence, Takagi pulls out a ring that he intends to present to Sato. The action sends most of the police force into a panic, but Shiratori calms everyone down, claiming he's got it covered. As Sato returns, the Detective Boys, along with Professor Agasa, shock Takagi with their appearance. They state that Inspector Shiratori had gifted them Tropical Land tickets as an expression of gratitude for their frequent corporation, and that the Marine Land mascot, Maririn, had led them here for a photo but is now strangely missing. The mascot is shown scurrying away and reveals itself to also be an officer. He informs Shiratori of the situation, prompting the Inspector to call Agasa. Shiratori convinces Agasa to leave the kids with Takagi and Sato while he returns home and helps review a FAX document about a recent case. With their guardian gone, the Detective Boys have no choice but to join Takagi and Sato. Furthermore, Takagi's hope for Kogoro Mouri and Ran to arrive and chaperone the kids is squashed after learning the two are at a baseball game.
Opening the bag, Sato discovers a kilogram of heroin. Takagi believes he accidentally switched bags with someone during the 5000 leagues under the sea ride. Sato heads to the ride to see if anyone is looking for their lost bag, but the desk lady says no such customer has appeared. Since one kilogram of heroin can be worth up to sixty million yen (~600,000 dollars), the owner must still be searching for his package in the park.
File 405 - Misguided Massive Hunt
Sato deduces the bag's owner is a drug mule who intends to have a transaction with Asakichi Yakura. The two officers check the bag's contents, Sato asking if there are any blood stains on it, but only find brand new sports towels and a handkerchief dirtied by sweat. They ponder how to track the mule down when Conan points to the right bag strap. The punch hole with the prong attached to it appears elongated, meaning the mule must carry his bag on his left shoulder—making him left-handed. Their prime suspect is now a left-handed person who frequently engages in physical activity. That's when Ayumi remembers the photo taken by the on-ride camera, leading the group to revisit the 5000 leagues ride to see if anyone who fits the description rode with them. Before they leave, Sato hands the reception ladies the bag, telling them to call her if someone comes to retrieve it. As the group runs off, three disguised officers approach the receptionists. After showing their badges, they ask the lady what Sato was talking about. She says they were suspiciously talking about "Blood stains (Kekkon {血痕})" and "Heroin (Heroin {ヘロイン})," but the officers confuse the words for "Marriage (Kekkon {結婚})" and "Wedding Reception (Hirouen {披露宴}." Alarmed, they call Shiratori, who deduces that Takagi had likely switched bags with someone else, and their primary objective now is to retrieve his bag and stop the ring from getting into Sato's hands.
The group reviews the photograph and identifies four suspects and a child. Mitsuhiko recalls that the person holding onto Genta does golf as he was practicing his swing while waiting in line. Similarly, the man sitting next to the child probably does baseball because he was practicing throwing. Conan believes the tanned man to be a football player as the tan lines on his feet are shaped like shin guards would go. Finally, Haibara thinks the tanned woman is a swimmer as she had a centimeter-long line of untanned skin, likely from her goggles. Genta explains he got blue ink on his shirt after the man grabbed him, leading Conan to believe he wrote on one of the ride surveys using the ballpoint pen. The group inspects his sheet, and because the writing is smeared to the left, Conan deduces the man is left-handed. Sato instructs the park staff to call Noboru Takagi's name on the loudspeaker.
Because Takagi shares the same last name with the man, the police believe their searching for a family member, further corroborating their theory that the two intend to hold their wedding ceremony at the park. Noboru Takagi arrives, but he does not have Wataru Takagi's bag. He reveals himself as the young boy's father, removing himself from the suspect list. While the group wonders what to do next, Ayumi notices three talented high school athletes. Seeing them, Conan is reminded of something. He sniffs the dirty handkerchief, remarking, "it's the same smell as before." His friends ask him what he came up with, and the child detective replies, "there's one thing an athlete should never do."
File 406 - Misguided but Successful Arrest
Conan highlights how high school athletes hold their bags, especially Yousuke Got, the prodigy baseball player. Haibara notes that despite being left-handed, he carries his bag on his right shoulder to protect his throwing arm. Thus, the right-handed baseball player could still be the mule since, logically, he'd carry his backpack on his left shoulder. Additionally, Conan states the handkerchief smells like glove oil, practically sealing the mule's identity as the baseball player. The Detective Boys wonder how they'll find the man, but Conan recommends they wait near the baseball game in the park arcade.
Lo and behold, the baseball player arrives. Takagi tries to confront the man, but Sato insists they stalk him and let him lead the way to Yakura. Soon after, the police squad led by Shiratori finds the group and decides to follow them. The three factions converge in the stands of a performance attraction. Both Sato and the police squad notice Yakura arrive and sit beside the baseball player. Seeing the transaction, Sato springs into action and attempts to arrest Yakura, but the latter reveals he possesses a gun. Yakura uses the cover of the ensuing firework show to make his escape. Takagi, Sato, the Detective Boys, and the entire Shiratori police squad give chase. While in pursuit, Sato notices something and stops in her tracks, falling to her knees. Nevertheless, Takagi and Conan continue to run as they see Yakura headed for a ferry, likely intending to hijack it. Conan uses his Anywhere Ball Dispensing Belt and Power-Enhancing Kick Shoes to incapacitate Yakura, causing both the drug dealer and Takagi's ring to flail off the guard rail. Takagi tackles Yakura into the sea but can do nothing to stop his ring from sinking into the dark abyss.
Upon returning to land, Shiratori and his police squad congratulate his catch, and seen as his ring is lost, they invite him for drinks after. As his colleagues depart with Yakura, Takagi checks up on Sato, who's still in a dejected state. Takagi realizes Sato must've seen fireworks appear behind the Ferris wheel, reminding her of Jinpei Matsuda's death.[1] Takagi apologizes to Sato amongst the cries of disappointment from the Detective Boys, but Sato simply asks for him to "never leave her side." Takagi gladly accepts her promise as the two hold hands. Meanwhile, Agasa still waits for Shiratori to send him the FAX report.

Suspicious Curry Case
File 407 - Tennis Court of Remembrance
Despite being sick, Conan joins Kogoro and Ran in traveling with Sonoko to her Karuizawa vacation house as he suspects she is up to no good. In the car ride, Sonoko unveils her plan to make Shinichi jealous by taking a photo of Ran beside a handsome tennis player. Additionally, she also shows her an extremely short tennis skirt for her to wear, arousing Conan. Hearing his daughter's protests, Kogoro threatens to turn the car around, but after Sonoko informs him there'll be sexy college girls there too, the detective speeds forward.
The group arrives at the tennis courts, and unfortunately for Kogoro, the heavy rainfall shatters his dreams, but he does notice a figure standing alone in the rain. When they approach him, he states he's remembering meeting his wife here for the first time. The man, Hiroto Akashi, offers to teach the group tennis as he's an instructor who lives nearby, but the group respectfully declines. Seen as tennis is canceled, Kogoro takes the group fishing. But when their fishing line begins to pull, the detective realizes he's fishing his rent-a-car. Antics ensue as the line snaps, and Conan is flung into the raging river.
The tumble into the river exacerbates Conan's fever as the group wanders through the mountains without their luggage.
Later, when washing the dishes, Akashi asks Ran to fetch his father's plate for him, but he tells her only to retrieve it if his light is off. Ran complies and notices the light is still on. As she makes her return, she hears the sounds of the father crying. A little while later, she checks again and, this time, notices the lights are off. She and Conan go to open his door softly, but to their horror, they see the old man has hanged himself, with blood dripping from his mouth.
File 408 - The Suspicious Curry
Ran's scream echoes through the house, gathering everyone at the crime scene. Akashi explains they adjusted its height after the string once got into the old man's eye.
The group sits at a table.
File 409 - My Voice is Gone...!?
With his voice gone, Conan has no choice but to use hand symbols and sign language to communicate with his usual deduction puppets.
On the car ride home, Inspector Yamamura laments being unable to capture a Sleeping Kogoro Deduction Show.

File 410 - Professor's First Love
Professor Agasa enlists the help of the Detective Boys in locating an invitation letter for a colleague's son's wedding.
On the first day of school, he discovered a crying girl from two grades below who wore her hat deep on her head.
The letter states the girl's gratitude for their time together, telling him they can meet again in ten years at a special place of memories. Conan notices a hint written on the back of the letter: "4163 33 6 0," and "The clue is 'Animals.'"
The Detective Boys think to ask Kogoro Mouri for help, but he's busy at a joint event between Yoko Okino and Misa Nakayama. The Detective Boys hear the name "Yoichiro-san (よういちろう さん)" and convert it to numbers: "4 (Yo {よ})," "1 (Ichi {いち})," "6 (Rou {ろう})," and "3 (San {さん})" = "4163" which matches the first four numbers of the clue, and deduce it points to the Tohto Zoo.
The group heads to the zoo, determined to find Agasa's first love.
File 411 - The Place of Memory
The Detective Boys comment on how old Agasa's supposed first love looks. Seen as it was another case of mistaken identity, Agasa says his goodbyes and the Detective Boys decide to call Sonoko for help.
Ran picks up their call, answering that they're still in line for the new Fusae Brand Bag. Conan hangs up. As Ran puts her phone away, Sonoko returns and comments how uncharacteristic of her to want to buy a brand item. Ran answers she's just fulfilling an old promise.
Back at the zoo, the group tries calling "Kinoshita" on the loud speaker, but no one arrives.
File 412 - First Love · Reunion · Farewell
The Detective Boys arrive at the location but see no one around. Shinichi soon arrives and the two part ways—Ran honoring that promise to this day.
Fusae and Agasa say goodbye, and the former joins her "husband" in the car.

File 413 - Kogoro's Big Mistake
Kogoro takes Ran and Conan to a Michelin three-star French restaurant and orders exorbitant foods and wines with abandon. Eri clarifies that she's only helping for Ran's sake, not Kogoro.
In the car, Eri reviews the situation. The target in question is Mikio Fujieda, whom Eri knows by word of mouth.
