- The other police believe that Shiratori is courting Sumiko solely for her similarities to Sato. This strains their budding romance, as Sumiko listens to this and tries to cut Shiratori off.
- Shiratori tries to mend the disagreement and explains the role that Sumiko played in his life, confessing to her. She doesn't remember, however, and sadly thinks Sato was the girl instead of her.
- Shiratori is a part of the group that protects Sumiko and catches the culprit hell-bent on silencing her. He confesses to her again, and since Sumiko finally can remember him, she accepts his feelings. From then on, they start a relationship.
