Kazuo Nogami had joined the Detective Conan anime production since 1996, starting with Episode 28: Kogoro's Class Reunion Murder Case (Part 2); and began to serve as organizer, storyboardist, and episode director regularly. Yet starting Episode 54: The Ojamanbou Murder Case, in 1997, Nogami transitioned to contributing to the anime under the name of "のがみかずお".
In 2001, after finishing the episode directing work for Episode 262: The Fearful Legend of the Snowy Night (Part 2), he quit the production team and has not returned yet.
