The screenplay is written by [[Koujin Ochi]], known for his quality scenarios, while the animation offered extensive views of the local snowy nature and the traditional Japanese inn. The story follows Conan, Ran and Kogoro at a hot springs inn in the moutainous Yamagata Prefecture where they meet a group of people producing a TV drama. Under a fake guise of collaboration, it seems tensions are high between the group and two members in particular are the cause of everyone's bad mood. A member of the group, Eri Akechi, whom Kogoro is a fan off, tells them about the local legend of a vengeful "Kimono Goddess".
