In the new publicity for Hitachi Wooo, Conan returns home and pushes the two Nichiuri Productions Crew members that Kogoro was meeting and thus, forgetting to put his shoes in place. He runs to the living room and sees something wrong but was is it? Then, a few moments later, Kogoro asks Ran to show him the show she had just recorded to which Ran gets bored and replies that he watch too much TV since after he bought the Wooo. The show starts in a mansion, as the detective, a young lady, starts her deduction and says that the one who murdered the victim, Naruhiko Kawada, is right among them. The show is then interrupted by Rena Mizunashi's microwave ad and Kogoro suddenly says that the criminal is Shun Onuma and that the trick is a simple application of physics since the murder weapon was ice and that it will vanish and that was why the air conditioner was put to an extremely high temperature. Then, there is another commercial but this time, with Megure, Takagi, and Sato who promote a razor. Then, the detective explains the murder and it was said the same way Kogoro did. Both Ran and Conan are stunned and Kogoro brags about his intelligence. Conan then investigates and sees that the Wooo H series, the TV in the living room, doesn't have any recording device but the one in Kogoro's room, the Wooo XP series seems mysterious. He then remembered the professor Agasa that even though not being one of his inventions, the Wooo TV is even better than some of his inventions. He then sees the business cards of the Nichiuri TV crew members and remember the two TVs that feel out of place so, finally he finds out the truth.

<spoiler>In the afternoon, the group watches the second episode of the series which is ,again, in a mansion. The detective says that the one who killed Hiroaki Kobayashi is right among them (again) and surprisingly, during the commercial of the Detective Boys and the new steam rice machine, Kogoro starts his "deduction" and says the culprit is Yuhei Yamakami. Conan then tells him he already watched the drama to which Kogoro replies he didn't. Conan explains that it is in fact DLNA (Digital Living Network Alliance). By using that, the recording of a TV program from the living room could be watched on a device of the same company in another room (Kogoro's room for instance). It meant that Kogoro simply set up the Wooo in the living room to record the drama and, by using the DLNA, was able to fast forward and watch it on the Wooo of his room. In fact, Kogoro had been doing this for the journalists of Nichiuri who planted a camera in a plant which was why Conan thought the room was out of place. Kogoro was then humiliated but Conan said no worries since he turned off the camera beforehand. Ran then gets angry at Kogoro fro letting people doing nonsense. She then added all detectives were like that like Shinichi of her dad.
