217	-	Megure's Locked Away Secret (Part 1)	December 11, 2000
A murderer who targets young girls and beats them with a hammer badly. The police begins to search for the criminal, while the case angers Megure due to his past. Whenever the past serial killer case is mentioned, Megure immediately stiffens up, and becomes all business. Brief pieces of Megure's past are hinted and shown.
218	-	Megure's Locked Away Secret (Part 2)	December 18, 2000
In the mall, Megure catches the culprit before he could hurt Sonoko. He reveals a case in the past which is why he was so anxious. In the past a man was attacking girls with long skirts and a girl proposed to be bait but was badly injured along with Megure, leaving scars on both of them. The girl is revealed to be Megure's wife in the future. Midori Megure's first appearance. Megure saves Sonoko from the strange attacker, taking a baseball bat to the face, re-opening his scar. Megure explodes at the attacker. We learn that Midori and Juzo met each other when Midori played the role of someone who would look like someone the past serial killer would attack. After she gets attacked for real, Megure tries to save her, both of them being injured. They both fall in love with each other afterwards. The full story of Megure's past is finally revealed, as well as the reason why he always wears a hat, never wanting to take it off.
219	-	Gathered Detectives! Shinichi vs. Kaito Kid (2 Hour Special)	January 8, 2001
Kaitou Kid stands on top of a building with his butler. He discusses the time he was almost caught by a famous Detective in the East, Shinichi Kudo. Afterwards Mouri has been invited to a detective meeting by an unknown assailant who sends him money. There are Six detectives there excluding Conan. They are in a house where a massacre happened years ago. One of the detectives are killed and they are stranded in the mansion as the bridge has been cut and the cars have been burned. It also appears that the unknown assailant is using the name Phantom Thief Kid. After solving the case, Mouri was revealed to be Kid in disguise and escapes before Conan could capture him. Saguru Hakuba and Konosuke Jii's first appearances. A flashback is shown where Shinichi teams up with Megure to try and outsmart the Kid, which they almost do.
220	-	The Client Full of Lies (Part 1)	January 15, 2001
A beautiful woman hires Detective Mouri to help her locate a friend. During the process, a woman's husband is murdered. Conan finds the client to be very suspicious, as she refuses to cooperate with the investigation. Is she the murderer, or is there something more about her actions? Shizuka Hattori's first appearance.
221	-	The Client Full of Lies (Part 2)	January 22, 2001
The true murderer turns out to be the man's wife. When asked to do down to the station, she goes into a room, then retrieves a sword. The woman client that Conan found suspicious interferes and physically stops her from using the sword by using only a fan! The murderer is then taken, and Heiji appears with Kazuha revealing the mysterious female client to be his mother! Conan is quite shocked to learn about how young Heiji's mother looks!
222	-	And There Were No Mermaids (The Murder)	January 29, 2001
Conan along with Heiji, Ran, and Mouri visit the Isle of Mermaids looking for Saori, who had sent a letter to Heiji and Mouri asking them to save her from being killed by a mermaid, but when they try to look for her she has been reported missing. Every year on this island a festival is held were 3 locals win the Dungong Arrow that is said to wield immortality to its carrier. The festival is brought to a disastrous end when one of the winners is found dead hanging down the waterfall. Kazuha gets embarrassed when the subject of her feelings for Heiji comes up during her conversation with Ran.
223	-	And There Were No Mermaids (The Deduction)	February 5, 2001
Conan and Heiji investigate the area and history of Mermaids Grave, a forest on mermaid island. They learn that an elder who is over 130 years old is a holder of the arrow and the head of the festival. While investigating two more murders occur. Conan reveals to Heiji he knows who the murderer is and to meet him later, but later he and Kazuha fall off a cliff. Heiji and Kazuha are found stuck on a cliff, and Kazuha is barely hanging on to Heiji to survive!
224	-	And There Were No Mermaids (The Resolution)	February 12, 2001
Conan reveals that the murderer is the elder. He reveals that the elder were people who dressed up as her to continue the story of the arrow. Heiji and Kazuha arrive at the house in time to confirm the story. The culprit reveals that her mother was the previous elder who were killed by the three victims. She continued the elder story for her mother, but finds out the whole town knew she was the elder and that her mother was the mermaid's corpse. All the town people bow their heads and apologize for not telling her sooner as she cries due to her guilt. Kazuha takes the arrow that she won in the contest, and stabs Heiji with it, hoping that he'll let go of her so that she can fall off, saying "I pass my long life onto you." However, Heiji refuses to let go, even when the gash gets incredibly bloody. He helps her back up, and helps her to the elder's hut, promising that he will never let anyone hurt her while he is with her.

Ran, Sonoko, and Conan attend a pottery class when a man is strangled to death with a necktie and found in a closet. Conan knows who the culprit is and tries to find evidence to prove it was him. Ran and Sonoko both want to make a piece of pottery for their respective boyfriends: Shinichi and Makoto.

Conan uses Sonoko to reveal the culprit and tie him to the crime. Ran decides to not send Shinichi her pottery, while Sonoko gives hers to Makoto. While looking for chips, Conan finds the pottery, which says "I will wait for you, Shinichi," which gets Conan redfaced, and makes him happy for the rest of the day.

Heiji invites Mouri, Ran, and Conan to a celebration of the opening of the 3K restaurant by three American celebrities, a boxer, a baseballer, and a soccer player who Conan admires. Later a murder occurs and Conan is acting strangely as the three are suspects. Conan is very excited to see the soccer player, who was his favorite soccer player growing up. Kazuha gets jealous when she sees Heiji talking to girls. Conan is excited to see his favorite soccer player, who was his hero growing up.
239	-	The 3 "K"s of Osaka Case (Part 2)	June 25, 2001
Conan investigates further and finally confronts with the culprit. The culprit reveals that the victim created false rumors about him and destroyed his life. Heiji later cheers Conan up while Ran and Kazuha mention how they look like brothers. When Conan and Heiji are investigating, anytime Heiji finds a clue that points to the soccer player, Conan tries to prove it as wrong. However, when Conan faces the facts, he tells Heiji that he wants to confront him alone. Conan has to confront the soccer player, who is the killer. Although it hurts him greatly, he does realize that justice comes before anything else, and is even hurt when the soccer player tries to weasel his way out of handing himself in. This depresses Conan. Later, Heiji helps cheer Conan up, and Kazuha comments on how they both look like brothers.
240	-	The Bullet Train Transport Case (Part 1)	July 2, 2001
Conan is on the way home from Osaka, before so, he gives Ran a phone call as Shinichi. Later, they meet Sato and Takagi on the train who are transporting a drug dealer to the station. Sato goes to investigate a bomb and Takagi tricked into letter the drug dealer to the bathroom. Later the bomb was found out to have been a distraction. They rush back and find the drug dealer stabbed with a knife. Takagi wants to go on a date with Sato, via tickets to a show that Yumi gave him, but will he get up the courage? Shinichi calls Ran! Also, Takagi wants to take Sato on a date.

Conan points out the suspects of who the murderer is. After investigating and finding clues, Conan reveals the culprit. He tries to escape but is stopped by Takagi and Sato. Sato and Takagi's budding romance is explored.
242	-	Boy Genta's Misfortune	July 16, 2001
Genta has been acting weird at school lately. The Detective boys learn that he is being targeted by a killer. Genta tries to remember where he sees the killer. After eating ice cream, seeing the Flag of France, and looking at a store mirror, he heads to a barber shop. Afterwards the killer confronts him but Conan reveals it was a trap and that the killer is surrounded by cops.

An imposter impersonates Mouri at a hotel. Mouri decides to play along and pretend to be someone else to confront the imposter later. Afterwards the imposter is found hanged in his closet.

Conan reveals that it is a murder and that is relates to an incident in the past of the hotel. Afterwards, Mouri picks up girls who are his fans and gives them a ride in the car.
