The connecion of the seemingly unrelated explosion and the delivery was revealed to be related after a call on that smartphone mocked Kogorō and hints again on another bomb at a certain block in Haido City. The book has a riddle that is related to the case: on a bus station, five people are waiting. A bus with three passengers arrived. Two passengers get off the bus at the next stop while a passenger rode the bus. How many are the people on the bus when it arrived at its destination?
Kogorō then called Inspector Megure about the issue, and Kogorō, Ran and Conan went into the place. Immediately after they arrived, Inspector Megure asked the police to find the said bomb and called Inspector Takagi, showing a possible suspect: a bomber named Takuji Hirukawa. Then, Inspector Chiba, with the publisher named Hiroyuki Tomonaga, checked the book which was stolen and narrated what happened. The author of the book, Kenichi Imai tried to enter a book contest when a rumor about his half-brother, identified as Takuji, was posted to the internet causing him to withdraw the contest. After his death, Hiroyuki have tried to publish the book, however the print proof was retrieved by his half-brother, who attacked him to make the attempt successful.

Trivia
- The two episode special is an anime transposition of The Real Escape Game's story for Detective Conan attraction "Escape From Scotland Yard". It is set in the newly opened theme park Tōto London City. Attractions like the Tower Bridge Coaster, Buckingham Maze, and British Museum Theater mimic locations in real-world London. Participants in the Real Escape game visit Scotland Yard to take on the main attraction called Mystery Game. When the curtain raises on the game, and explosion goes off inside the park. The sound signals the start of a life-and-death game. The key to deactivating three bombs scattered throughout the park is a pop-up book that the "bomb demon" left behind. To stop the countdown, participants must uncover the truth in the pop-up book. Real Escape Game company SCRAP held a fan vote to choose the main character of the game, and Heiji Hattori was the winner. The other options for the main character were Ai Haibara, the Detective Boys, Sonoko Suzuki, Masumi Sera, or a criminal. Voting closed on May 10. Heiji also lead in the interim results, followed by Haibara and the criminal. The voting for the main character determined the new Real Escape Game's title and story. The attraction is celebrating both the tenth anniversary of Real Escape Game and the fifth anniversary of its collaboration with Detective Conan. The attraction will run in 31 cities: it began in Harajuku, Tokyo on June 30 and will end in Sunport Takamatsu's Takamatsu Symbol Tower in Kagawa Prefecture on November 26.
