Koichiro Kuroda (黒田 晃一郎 ,Kuroda Kōichirō) is a Japanese episode director and storyboard artist. He works for Azeta Pictures and does episode direction, storyboarding, and key animation in Detective Conan anime.

Biography

Koichiro Kuroda has been an animator within the industry since 2005, mainly serving as a technical director for numerous animation works.

Starting with Episode 494: Clash of Red and Black (Hades), Kuroda began to participate in the production of the Detective Conan anime and delegated the studio Azeta Pictures to single episode directing. This continued for an extensive period, and notably, ever since 2019, Kuroda has also started to serve as storyboardist for some Detective Conan anime episodes as well.

In 2021, he abruptly started to collaborate with another technical director from Azeta Pictures, Yosuke Fujino, for some episode direction in the anime. After several episodes, Fujino gradually succeeded Kuroda's position as Azeta Pictures regular episode director. This simultaneously led to Episode 1064: The Dreamy-Eyed Woman's Last Shot at Love from 2022 being Kuroda's last participation in Detective Conan.
