Situation

Akira Hashizume and Hiroshi Kagazume are arguing over something at a restaurant. Hiroshi warns Akira about how their previous scoop had created a situation of attempted murder. Before leaving, Akira subtly picks up the wrong one of the two identical flasks. Later, Hiroshi is found dead near the bridge.

Akira and Hiroshi stole the will of a well-known wealthy man a year ago to start a feud between the family members regarding his property and write on the same exaggerating the resentment of the family members. However, the situation escalated so much that family members attempted to murder one-another. Their article was heavily criticized for this.

Hiroshi felt guilty for doing so and thought of confessing to their crime. Akira, however, was not of the same opinion. Both of them devised the same plan to murder each-other. After he executed his plan halfway, Hiroshi felt guilty so he committed suicide and tried to rope in Akira for his murder by deliberately setting up the scene.

Akira Hashizume is finally arrested for attempted murder of Hiroshi and stealing of a legal document.
