After drinking with an old friend, Kogoro falls asleep on a train and awakens to find himself a person that is willing to go on a date with him. When she stops at home though, she finds a person murdered and causes Kogoro and Conan to start seeking out whether she's guilty or if someone else is involved.

- Sachiko Shimamura car drive is a Red Mitsubishi Libero Monte [CB5W].
- This is the first episode that mentions Cafe Poirot, and even mentions that it is below his Detective Agency.
- A Cherry Blossom Tree was seen, so they are in season with their pink petals of flowers or leaves.
- Although Conan proudly thought, "Uncle, you have the spotlight today!", and showed that he was going to allow Kogoro to make his own deduction, then Kogoro slid in a table accident, and fell unconscious, as he sat in a chair, Conan slapped his hand to his head in frustrated, and though in exasperation, "Oh brother, I guess it's up to me again," forcing Conan to make the deduction again in Kogoro's voice again.
- Much of this case, Kogoro really listened to Conan, which he has occasionally shown doing in some previous episodes.
- This is the case that Kogoro fell asleep on a subway train.
