Biography
Tetsuya Endo used to be credited as full kanji in the anime, yet currently he uses alias "えんどうてつや" (tramsforming all kanji characters into hiragana)[Note 1]. Moreover, he is a freelance animator and a member of the Japan Film Directors Association.
After graduating from Tokyo Metropolitan Fukagawa High School (東京都立深川高等学校), Endo worked at animation company Green Box (グリーン・ボックス). After it went bankrupt in 1982, he entered Production Loose (プロダクション·ルーズ) and worked as assistant technical director. Eventually, in 1983, he debuted as a proper episode director in the 2nd episode of anime God Mazinger (ゴッドマジンガー). He served as the director of Jankenman (ジャンケンマン) in 1991, and was known for his innovative incorporation of musical effects of musicals into his directed anime; aside from that, he even wrote some lyrices within.
In Kenyuu Densetsu Yaiba, Endo joined the production in late 1993, and was involved in the production of four episodes.
