The case is solved, the mysterious man was figured out to be a statue hanged by a fishing rod. The culprit was revealed to be '''Misaki Kana'''. Before meeting Yoshinori she was actually engaged with Jalal Tenma in Hawaii. Tenma discovering how he was dumped and betrayed threatens her with the original manuscript of the Red Nocturne containing flowers in the lyrics whose representation were emotions of betrayal and hatred. Threatened for her life, Misaki calls Jalal to a cliff and pushes him to his supposed death. Discovering that he survived and that he was forming connections with the company her husband owns, she fears that Jalal Tenma will threaten to expose her attempted murder and threaten to kill her. She thereby self imposes blackmail including the Beethoven statue stunt and calling Mouri Kogoro's help to keep up the impression that she is a victim. She frames her own husband, to protect him from being seduced by Masayo into giving up his company. He would be free from her influence while in jail and Misaki would run the company until he is released. Tragically, it was then revealed that Jalal forgave her, seeing that he turned her into a murderer and was genuinely trying to improve her husband's company and rewrote the Red Nocturne to express his feelings of sorrow for her. Misaki ends up breaking down in tears. Afterwards, Conan gives Ran flowers. Ran interprets the flower's with the meaning "invincible" and gets angry at Conan.

    Trivia

    • This episode marks a change in the image used for the "next episode" stinger. The image of Conan and Ran rushing toward the screen is replaced with an image of Conan standing in a "thinking pose", with a shadowy image of Shinichi in the same pose beside him.
