− | fireflies | + | Haibara seems to know a lot about [[Ki'ichiro Numabuchi]], and she reveals to Conan that it is because '''Numabuchi was part of the Black Organization'''. He had been probably hired to be a hitman, but as he wasn't clever enough, they tried to send him to Sherry as a guinea pig for her prototypes. However, Numabuchi escaped the Organization before she could meet Shiho. |

+ | Regarding Mitsuhiko, Conan tells his friends that he can't reply because he got lost and started shouting to ask for help and almost lost his voice. Moreover, he can't pick the badge because he can't us his hands.

+ | Numabuchi found Mitsuhiko in the forest and says that he reminds him of himself, worried and lost. Mitsuhiko is afraid because he can hear Conan telling him that there's a serial killer in the forest, but he can't escape from Numabuchi, who suddenly appears in front of everyone and gives himself in. He's carrying Mitsuhiko, who hasn't been hurt or harmed by the serial killer. The police officers take him away and Genta takes a look at Mitsuhiko's hands, from where a firefly comes out.
+ | |||
+ | Conan explains everything to his friends. '''Mitsuhiko had gone to the forest to catch fireflies''', due to the fact that in summer a lot of fireflies appear near that river in Gunma forest, as fireflies live in clean waters. They can't be seen from the city, so Mitsuhiko went to Gunma. The name of the samurais Mitsuhiko had mentioned were because he meant to say the names of two firefly species who were named after two samurais who were rivals, Genji and Heike. The two men were from an organization that defends the environment. They knew where Mitsuhiko wanted to go, so they warned him because he didn't want a lot of kids to go to Gunma forest and pollute it. He was looking ahead in the bus because he was following those two men who were in that bus, so he had to know when to get off of the bus as they were also going to Gunma. This was the reason why he bought an adult ticket, as he pressed the same button in the machine as those men. He was hurried to change the ticket because he didn't want to miss the train as he had to keep following the two men. When he got to Gunma, he hid for a while so that the men didn't see him, or they would lecture him again. The bamboo leaves were going to be used by Mitsuhiko to attract the fireflies.
+ | |||
+ | He had done all that because after seeing the fireworks, Ayumi and Ai mentioned they also wanted to see the fireflies, so everything was a surprise for the two of them. Conan then tells everyone that Numabuchi was sentenced to death penalty for his serial murders and that there was no fourth victim. He just wanted to see the fireflies in the forest for the last time in his life.
