The true murderer turns out to be the man's wife. When asked to do down to the station, she goes into a room, then retrieves a sword. The woman client that Conan found suspicious interferes and physically stops her from using the sword by using only a fan! The murderer is then taken, and Heiji appears with Kazuha revealing the mysterious female client to be his mother!

Conan along with Heiji, Ran, and Mouri visit the Isle of Mermaids looking for Saori, who had sent a letter to Heiji and Mouri asking them to save her from being killed by a mermaid, but when they try to look for her she has been reported missing. Every year on this island a festival is held were 3 locals win the Dungong Arrow that is said to wield immortality to its carrier. The festival is brought to a disastrous end when one of the winners is found dead hanging down the waterfall. | ||||||||||||

Conan and Heiji investigate the area and history of Mermaids Grave, a forest on Mermaid Island. They learn that an elder who is over 130 years old is a holder of the arrow and the head of the festival. While investigating two more murders occur. Conan reveals to Heiji he knows who the murderer is and to meet him later, but later he and Kazuha fall off a cliff.

Conan reveals that the murderer is the elder. He reveals that the elder were people who dressed up as her to continue the story of the arrow. Heiji and Kazuha arrive at the house in time to confirm the story. The culprit reveals that her mother was the previous elder who were killed by the three victims. She continued the elder story for her mother, but finds out the whole town knew she was the elder and that her mother was the mermaid's corpse. All the town people bow their heads and apologize for not telling her sooner as she cries due to her guilt. | ||||||||||||

Conan figures out the murderer's simple trick involving switching the characters in the game, as well as how the murderer sedated and attacked the victim before the game was even fully started, and stuns Sonoko to explain it to everyone. Jodie is very impressed with Conan's reasoning throughout the case, and very suspicious.

Ran, Sonoko, and Conan attend a pottery class. Sonoko wants to make pottery for Makoto, while Ran wants to make some for Shinichi. A man is strangled to death with a necktie and found in a closet. Conan knows who the culprit is, to the point of confronting the culprit when they're all alone, but still has no evidence. He tries to find evidence to prove it was him.

After investigating by Inspector Megure and Takagi, Conan uses Sonoko to reveal the culprit and tie him to the crime. Sonoko gives her pottery to Makoto, who doesn't know what it's supposed to be used for. Ran decides to not send Shinichi her pottery. Conan discovers it a few days later, where it says on the bottom "I will wait for you," with a heart next to it. This makes Conan happy for the rest of the day. | ||||||||||||

The Detective Boys, Conan, and Haibara all go on a bus.While there, they meet up with Jodie Saintemillion and Tomoaki Araide, who are both going on a lunch date. However, trouble brews when the bus is hijacked! Also, could it be that a member of the Black Organization is on the bus? Haibara believes so. Could they be after Haibara? Also, one of the three people sitting in the back, are an accomplice to the hijackers. Can Conan figure out who it is?

Conan figures out who the person is, and with the help of Jodie, is able to stop the hijackers. However, even after the hijackers are arrested, the bombs are left on the bus! Conan thinks everyone is off, but realizes something: Haibara is still on the bus! Can Conan save her in time? | ||||||||||||

Agasa takes the Detective Boys to a neighbor who is giving away his belongings before moving to England. While there Teruya Kanou's, the neighbor, Papillon is missing when the longcase clock strikes twelve and chimes twelve times. When Doyle's, the Papillon, collar is found inside an incinerator and the backdoor opens, Conan realizes that a culprit attempted to falsify the scene to give the impression Doyle ran away when in fact the culprit is hiding Doyle in the House to steal him afterward. Shino Hasuki's shoes are found near the crime scene and she is suspected of being the culprit.

Conan notices that there is glass wool in the incinerator and realizes who the culprit is. After gathering the guests, Conan reveals that the grandfather clock did not chime since the culprit changed the time on it and reveals that the culprit used the stereo to simulate the chimes. Doyle chased after the chime and is lured to the back of the stereo with food containing sleeping pills. Conan reveals that the culprit was after the jewelry on Doyle's collar which is worth a fortune. He reveals that the culprit is Yoshio Tsunashima; Tsunashima had reserved a small pendulum clock which was becoming slower by a minute per hour, meaning something was weighting down the pendulum which was revealed to be Doyle's collar. Tsunashima confesses to his crime and reveals he needed the money to continue to support the abandoned dogs he kept taking in. Kanou decides to give the collar to Tsunashima and not push for any charges. That following evening, they find out Kanou's other dog, Arthur, was the one who was placed Hasuki's shoes elsewhere. Conan reveals that Arthur wanted to prevent Hasuki from leaving so he could be with his love Christie, Hasuki's German Shepherd. Hasuki announces that she had accepted Kanou's proposal and will be joining him in England. | ||||||||||||

Conan, Kogoro, and Ran are all at a party. While there, they discover a locked wine cellar, and a man is found dead in it. Conan investigates further and finally confronts the true culprit: the soccer player. The culprit reveals that the victim created false rumors about him and destroyed his life. Conan is crushed. Sato goes to investigate a bomb and Takagi tricked into letter the drug dealer to the bathroom. Later the bomb was found out to have been a distraction. They rush back and find the drug dealer stabbed with a knife.

Afterwards the killer confronts him but Conan reveals it was a trap and that the killer is surrounded by cops.

Afterwards the imposter is found hanged in his closet. Also, another body is discovered outside of the hotel, but it is much more decomposed. They meet a group of people who are all fishermen, including one mean and gruff sounding one getting a tan. Everyone decides to have dinner at a local hotel. While there, the man getting the tan doesn't answer his phone, even though he requested for the fishermen to meet him there. After a few tries, he finally answers one of their phones, but doesn't say anything, and only the tide is heard. Everyone runs to the beach, where they find him dead, covered in a fishing net. Inspector Sango Yokomizo arrives on the scene. Conan knows the killer is one of the three, but can he figure out who did it, and how? Also, why is Haibara acting so cold towards Ran? | ||||||||||||

Takagi solves the case and arrests the culprit when he tries to make a dash out of the police car. Takagi catches up and gives up on going to Sato in time to stop the marriage as the sun is almost set and the car is too far away. His party comes to cheer him on and he runs. Conan manages to stop the marriage in time with Tomoaki Araide's help. Takagi manages to reach the restaurant but the sun has completely sunk. He then sees Sato around the corner who tells him he told her an emergency case has come up. Takagi smiles as he enters the car. Meanwhile Shiratori leaves the restaurant, disappointed in his close marriage. Conan comments how Takagi and Sato reminded him of Ran and himself. | ||||||||||||
